Who else cancelled their Google Pixel 6 Pro order?

Canceling is really looking like it's an increasingly wise decision with all the issues popping up. Should've known Google couldn't manage a fully baked product.

What are "all the issues" you are talking about? I've had the Pixel 1 XL, 3 XL, and now a 6 Pro. All were excellent and trouble free for me. I see a few complaints about the fingerprint scanner which works 99 out of 100 times for me. It took less than an hour to get used to it and not keep picking it up. Now I like it better as I can unlock while it is on my desk. I've also had Moto and Samsung devices as well.

I usually get my devices at launch, and every single one, no matter the manufacturer, had forums full of people who had problems. I had Samsung phones that wouldn't hold a connection and not even be able to make a call, and Moto devices that just rebooted when they felt like it. I've never had that with a Pixel.

If you hate Google so much why hang out in the pixel forum? Why use a phone with Google software? Why not become an iPhone zombie?

All asked in fun with a bit of sincerity.

I had a samsung S20 plus that had more problems than reported on the P6, but I just reported that, sent the POS back and ended with a 4XL that has had no problems. However, I don't hang out in samsung forums knocking their phones, which if you look over there are far from trouble free.
Again, all I jest. :)

Ok first, I'm loving the pretendimg to be joking, it's classic.

In no particular order, I hang around the pixel 6 forum because I own one. I actually don't hate Google (any more than other companies), but the £670 I spent on their phone and terrible cases gives me the right to hold them accountable, just as I would Samsung or any other company. Although honestly, Google should probably be held to a higher standard. You actually won't see me talking crap in forums of phones I don't like enough to buy.

These phones are buggy as hell, and people should know that. The issue where it randomly dials people, in my opinion, is enough that people should hold off on buying this phone, at least until it's fixed.

And I DO hate Apple. I've never given them any money, and I don't intend to ever do so. This is why you'll never see me in an iOS or Mac forum.

Not a joke, just fun. Difference. (Joke:"Something said or done to evoke laughter or amusement, especially an amusing story with a punch line." NOT TRYING TO INVOKE LAUGHTER.)
(Fun: To be amusing.)

But your explanation makes sense now that I find out you own the phone, just not in the constant bashing of a phone. I had problems with my 4XL, almost all were fixed eventually, the one, battery problems, I never had, even today after about 1.5 years, it has primarily been ok. A12 update caused some problems and caused battery drain issues, but the Nov update appears to have helped. Is it back to prior to the A12? Close but then again it is 1.5 years old and I do the nasty full charge every night.

Yes, there appear to be a lot of problems with the P6, but in the full picture; the greater majority of people who have this phone are NOT on this forum. Forums are notorious for complaints; with some praises. I find most of the comments on this forum to be fair; whether they are bad or good, but honest.

I also believe some of the problems with the P6 are due to the A12 update since some were and are on my phone. (Just noticed my temp display disappeared after I read how it is disappearing on the P6...I never look it at, so I was surprised it was not there.

However, I will say, I never suspected you had a pixels, however, I never delved into what you had.

I'll still follow this P6 problems and likes for a few months, since I have time. And if it looks bad, I'll jump to the S21 and hope. And agree, so far the random dialing is the biggest problem I see (and there is even one on the Samsung forum so can't blame that one on A12). However that one sure looks software related and hopefully can and will be fixed very soon).

So, have a good day or Night since it appears you are over the big pond.

For me; it's 3:30 AM and time to walk the dogs and look for my wolf.

I agree. fps on the back is very fast and always works. fps on the front often requires me to first swipe my finger across my oily forehead and then apply to fps, which leaves a nasty smudge on the screen. yuk.

Get some lotion my guy. Ashy > Classy 😆

Went to local Best Buy last night to see the new Pixels in person.
Was not impressed TBH.
Maybe the reviewers hyped it up too much for me.
They just did not feel that premium and, on both models, the UI had hitches in it opening/closing apps which kind of surprised me.

I was blown away by the Galaxy Z Fold 3 though. I decided a huge folding phone with a gorgeous screen is what I want next.

I really had my heart set on picking up a pixel 6/6 Pro, and I still might, but I'm really struggling to comfortably carry my pixel 3XL, so much so that when I sit down or bend over, my phone's popping out of the corner of it's Bellroy case from the pressure in my pocket... not comfortable at all. I'm really tired of these big phones, but I need the bigger screen for my aging eyes.

My 3XL is running like a champ on Android 12, feels like a new phone. I might wait to see what kind of foldables appear from Google. Or I might even (gasp!) pick up a Z Flip 3 if the price comes down... although I REALLY want my next phone to be a pixel :p

I moved from Pixel 3 yo Pixel 6. I bought the hype and loath this phone.

Finger print scanner is garbage.
Gesture navigation is garbage.
Drop calls
DND automatically turns on
Can't hear caller when answering calls with Bluetooth headphones

Very disappointed. 😢

FPS isn't garbage - it's better than the optical FPS I'd had on a Samsung. But coming from the capacitive rear design of the 3 (and the 3 XL, which I used), it is indeed slower and not quite as consistent. Capacitive FPS were pretty much infallible, but they're pretty much a thing of the past. Most other flagships are now using ultrasonic FPS, which are better than the Pixel's optical FPS, so you could consider them, but you'd be giving up a lot of the things about Pixels you probably enjoy.

Gesture navigation has been around for a while now - 2 years? - and is far, far better than when it was first introduced. Since that initial launch, and continuing today, there has been the option in settings to use the legacy 3-button navigation. It doesn't take long to get used to, and I, for one, find it more intuitive to navigate after having given it that time. But if you really don't like it, you can change it back to the 3 button configuration in settings.

I can't speak to dropped calls for you, but I'm getting the similar levels of network capture and better network speeds on the 6 Pro when compared to the S20 FE, with both having been better than the 3 XL. Any number of variables could impact this - with the cell provider and how they manage an existing call when the phone transitions between WiFi, 3G, 4G, and 5G sub-6/midband/mmWave networks during the connection being a likely culprit. And given you're coming from a Pixel 3 which lacked 5G, it might be further narrowed down to transitions between 5G network bands and 4G/WiFi. I Haven't had those issues myself (on T-Mobile, frequently transitioning between WiFi, 4G, 5G sub-6, and 5G midband).

DND can be configured to turn on/off automatically at given times, when driving, when gaming, etc - have you checked to make sure none of those settings are possibly the culprit?

Haven't had any issues on Bluetooth answering calls via two different headsets or in the car. Have you tried different Bluetooth devices?

I wouldn't expect the FPS to get noticeably better, so if that's a dealbreaker for you there are other options this year in which the FPS is a newer tech that will run smoother and more reliably. Gesture navigation should be a total non-issue, as you can just turn it off if you want.

What's different about the gesture navigation between the 3 and 6?

You can still go into Settings and go back to 3 button bottom row navigations. And my fingerprint scanner works great. I had the Pixel 3XL too and loved it, but I love the 6 Pro even more.

I was most concerned about two things, but I definitely wanted to check them out myself and not trust reviewers. My two main concerns were the size of the phone being too big and the front fingerprint scanner. I wanted the 6 pro because I find myself wanting a good tele lens enough to want that third camera.

I'm glad I got it because it's been just about a week and the FPS is really good to me. I only trained four fingers, once each, and really made sure to do it well. I don't use a screen protector, never have on any phone and see no need to start now. The FPS is excellent. Faster than I thought and very accurate for me. Non issue. Either people are not training their device right, or maybe it's a defective sensor, because mine is great.

The size is better than I thought. I do wish they made a phone with the 6 pro specs in the size of the regular 6, just a bit shorter in height, but the 6 pro is more manageable than I thought. I mean I had a 4XL and a 2XL before my 5, so I am fine with big phones, but wasn't sure I was ready to go back to the big big phones yet as I liked going smaller with the 5, though a little bigger would have been better for that guy. It's been an easy adjustment back however.

So far the phone has been excellent overall. Battery life has become solid over the last week. Not spectacular but definitely solid. The screen is gorgeous. The phone is fast. Have noticed a few small glitches but nothing that impedes my using of the phone and I expect Google will fix multiple things in patches coming shortly.

I will be paying AT&T the rest of my Pixel 5 balance and selling it on Swappa. Zero interest in trying another phone until the Pixel 7 at this point. I suspect they'll have an updated Tensor sensor then and I look forward to see what they do with a year under their belt with their first gen chip.

I use multiple bluetooth devices (Sony XM4 IEM, Senn Momentum 2, Plantronics headset in the car, a bluetooth adapter for my old Honda), all have been perfect and smart unlock works great with all of them. I don't use the phone speakers for music, but for call quality whether in the earpiece or on speaker, and for watching a football game in the background while doing work on my computer, the audio is perfect. I don't think they would be great for music but it's not my use case so not really an issue for me, but I have yet to try them with music.

Ultimately I'd prefer all the P6pro specs in a slightly smaller phone, but this is great for now.

Minutes ago, I cancelled an order for a Pixel Pro 256gb from the google store. However, it was cancelled due to the fact I still have on order a 128gb that is scheduled for Nov 17-18

What's DND?

Done N Dusted lol....it usually means something's toast, history, finished, kaput... you get the idea ;) On phones it does also mean Do Not Disturb... so I guess it's all about your point of reference. When someone refers to their phones DND, they could be suggesting several things, depending on what they've done to it and how much they do or don't like it :p

I cancelled the 512GB but I ordered 256GB as replacement.
I am patiently waiting for after new year delivery

Me. Cancelled it because of mediocre battery endurance rating on GSMArena, slow charging, huge size and fingerprint complaints. Would have gone with 6 if only it had an ultrawide selfie camera. Sticking with my pixel 3 till android 13 release. Pixel 3 has surprisingly improved battery life after android 12.

I canceled my 256GB 6 pro order after receiving my original order, which is 128GB, both cloudy white. Realized I can get by with 128GB. It's s super phone but won't be the ultimate super phone like my 512GB S21 Ultra and 256GB IPhone 13 Pro Max.
