Who else will be ditching their S5 for the iPhone 6 ?????

All I need to know is how to add me Yahoo e-mail account to me S5 on at&t. I do not want to go to a store for obvious reasons. I heard I have to download Benstar app "my mail" Can someone give me dat address, I am old and get frustrated easily with detailed instructions lol

No need to download any app. Just open the built-in email app (Not Gmail, just Email). Tap the menu button, then Settings, then Add Account. Put in your email address (including the @yahoo.com), password, and tap "next." It should configure the rest automatically.

Or, for slightly tighter integration with Yahoo, download the Yahoo Mail app from the Play store: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...hoo.mobile.client.android.mail&token=j6KUsYbP

But once you have an android device then you can get an iOS device and enjoy the goodness of both. One must admit that iOS still has the more refined apps but, yes, android is catching up.

To be honest, I see little advantage in any respect to the iPhone. My apps work just fine on Android, and I don't know why I'd want to pay for apps on two different ecosystems. Aside from that, I'm on a CDMA carrier, so I'd need another phone line to use 2 phones.

Fair enough. I have 3 phone lines so I just enjoy things. I have a bunch of apps on both but most of my favorites are free anyways. I don't believe I would ever select iOS as my only device like I would android but since I have 3 lines it would be nice to have an iOS device and a Lumia 1520 (or superior). Small phones need not apply.

This is one thing I've noticed too...with most apps my Android ones are as good as my iOS ones were, but the occasional one doesn't seem to get updated as frequently or to be prioritized as much as the iOS one. The first one that comes to mind is Goodreads. The iOS app is much better than the Android one. For the most part, this isn't an issue, but I do know what you mean.

So they can steal/erase another 3000 of my songs stuck in iTunes jail? No thanks.

Were you able to bring all your music purchased through iTunes over successfully?

Have you tried or used the WatchOn app? I use my S5 as a remote with my Vizio tv and while on a trip over the last 2 weeks I was using it with a Sony tv in my hotel room, works flawlessly.

I have. I've used it a few times and it worked well but I mainly stick to Smart Remote as I prefer the layout.

Not me. Can't stand anything Apple. I just had to get an iPad for work at my new job, and the lack of customization capabilities in comparison to most Android devices astounds me.

Not me. :)

I hate how Apple are so restricted when it comes to customisation. I also don't think the iphone 6 screen would be that much bigger and I am guessing not as big as the S5.

I am happy with my S5.

As much as I love/have loved all my Galaxy's and Note's I do plan on jumping to the iPhone 6 on day one (I'm on the T-Mobile original jump plan:) )

Yea,,, I'm one of "those" ,,,,, I like both Android and iOS ( I'm typing this on my iPad Air right now) but my current phone is the S5.

Main reason I dumped iPhone (owned every model ever made) was because of the 3.5 and 4" screen sizes, but now that Apple is going to be putting out 4.7" and 5.5" screens that's a big game changer for me.

Also, iOS 8 is now going to be finally using some of the best features that Android has had for the last few years,, predictive text keyboard, easier access to settings and a few other things that iOS has always been behind on.

And all the new features and the re-vamp of iCloud with the new iOS 8 release are very welcome as well,,,,, iCloud will finally be what it should have been long ago (more like Google Drive and Dropbox have been)

Anyhow,,,, I do love my S5, but I'm counting down the days for the iPhone 6 release,,, just can't decide between the 4.7" or 5.5" version,,,,, leaning more towards the the 4.7" though.

Any other S5 owner's out there having the same thoughts about going to, or switching back to Apple when the 6 comes out ???

Cheers
Davyo

So what I'm reading is that now that the iPhone 6 has caught up with the S5 you want to switch back to an iPhone. But you never said why.

.

I just love the size of my Note 3 but I wouldn't mind the iPhone 6 and it's slightly smaller hopeful size of 5.5

Considering that I just barely got my S5 about a month ago, there is no way. LOL. Even if I still had my S4, I wouldn't though. I wouldn't even consider owning an iPhone if a jailbreak wasn't available and it will be several months before they find an exploit to make that possible when iOS 8 comes out. It always does.

There are things I like better about iPhones but they pale in comparison to what I like more about Android devices. I do hope that Apple comes out with that bigger screen that is rumored. They are way behind on that. That's the main reason why I decided to ditch my 4S and picked up an S4 last September. That and I knew I'd be able to customize much more without the hassle of jailbreaking. Not that jailbreaking is some big deal. It is quite simple to do and I'm very comfortable with Cydia and all that but it's nice to be able to just get everything I need from the Play Store without having to mess around with any of that.

I'll be going back to an iPhone. I was tempted by the s5 and its a great phone, however the majority of my content is in iTunes. I'll probably keep the S5 so I can swap occasionally.
