Who got the Nexus 6? How is your battery? And How fast the turbo charger?

My battery life is horrible. Losing three percent just on standby over fifteen minutes. Three hours of moderate use, and down to 68%.

Did nothing of the sort. WiFi was on all day. Probably an hour off WiFi (LTE/HSPA+). Signal stats are in my favor----I use a MicroCell at home. Brightness is always at 50% with adaptive display on.

yeah, WiFi on all day, so that would help with battery a lot.

Yeah I don't expect to get 7 hours on screen everyday under more strenuous use, but the fact that I could get 7 hours on a lazy Sunday is pretty damn good. I'd guess that 4-4:30 hours on screen and 15-17 hours total would be a normal usage pattern for me and this phone can handle it. That's good enough for me.

This was the best I could do by having the display brightness at 0%, WiFi mostly on, Bluetooth off, location off, ambient display off, adaptive brightness off, and activating battery saver at 15%.

yeah, I just feel like a phone this size, it should have better battery than that.

I average 17 hours on a work week with 3 to 3.5 hours screen on... 50% brightness adaptive brightness on, WiFi, Bluetooth and location left on regardless..... Over the weekend I averaged 12 hours with 6 hours screen on... usually ended up down around 5% remaining before charging and never used the power save mode..

Yesterday (and I know not everyone has the option) I put the phone on wireless charging for 1 hours before leaving work and that put 30% back in to the battery (58% to 88%) and after 17 hours (bedtime) I was still at 32% remaining and had 5 hours 28 minutes screen on.... I can easily leave my phone on the wireless charger for at least 2 - 3 hours a day while at work... I should be able to leave work with 100% battery each day and go until tomorrow morning.... Weekends different story as I am out and about all day.... I can't just set it down for 2 or 3 hours unless I plan to sit around the house or sit in the car...

I'm basing my conclusions on the fact that I cant replicate his results with the settings he used. I even did more then him to save battery and I was unable to match his 7 hour mark.
I see. Do you think he might share exactly how he has it set up to improve to this level?
I think I will ask.

I agree. That may be enough for me, but not for everyone else.

Hi, Adranalyne.
Many of us are struggling with battery life right now. Could you please share with us your set up & give us some tips as to how you achieved those phenomenal results?

Can have a lot to do with what apps you are running and how they draw power from the battery to do what they do in the background... Also depends on your signal strength and even the network you are on... Just so many factors that could be in play... I don't think there is anyway I can replicate his 7 hours screen on time but I don't need to... I've rarely used my phone THAT much in a single day... My normal usage is 2.5 - 3 and my "Heavy" use is around 5 to 6.... Can't recall ever going over 6 in a single day.....

Google Play Services 6.5.87 probably has a little to do with it. I'm running that as opposed to 6.1 (which is what ships with the Nexus 6). That could have an affect on battery life due to location reporting.

I thought I was pretty clear that it was an unusual usage case and that I wouldn't get those results on a normal usage day. Between Google Play Services being newer and the fact that I have a MicroCell at home so I get perfect signal, it's pretty easy to see that my results would differ from others.

Thank you. Didn't realize Google Play Services 6.5.87 and having a MicroCell at home made such a difference.

The battery life for me is either amazing (compared to past phones I've had.) or really average depending on my usage. I also have far more apps than the average user and my feedly app has tons of feeds and updates about every half hour.

Although I haven't actually done it yet, I'm sure I could kill the phone in 4-5 hours easy. Seems to get about 7 to 12% more than my year old Moto X 2013 between home and work. I take the bus and take the phone off the charger at about 6:47 AM and arrive to work about 8 AM and use the phone heavily between then. It's at about 70 or 73% by the time I start at 8:30.

Last weekend I got about 3 hours screen time with the phone lasting from 2 PM until around 12 AM with about 25 % battery left. I used a little Spotify, Feedly, Facebook, Tapatalk, and Chrome mostly that day and just about everything was on except WiFi and Bluetooth.

Overall I'm confident that it'll last me throughout the day if I don't use it heavily but if I do, I don't expect to get too much out of it.

So, here it is after using it a bit more this morning. I think this is probably my first time running it down to 8%. Certainly not bad.

I don't know but after 2-3 days seem like my battery get better and better...on par with my old LG G3..

My battery averages about 4hr 30mins of SoT and 12 hrs off of charger. The quick charger thing is amazing though. Before i went out yesterday I had my phone around 51%. I threw it on the charger for 30 mins and when I took it off i was at 89%. It is very good, I had to get a quick charger for the car, just waiting on it from Amazon
