Who got the Nexus 6? How is your battery? And How fast the turbo charger?

With that apk you also get with it smart lock. Its lets the phone stay unlocked in "trusted places" its pretty cool. Its in the security section. Need to use a pin or pattern lock of course.

Yeah I noticed that. There's small things like that that makes this phone enjoyable to use.

Nice. Are you saying they have added Trusted Places to Trusted Devices and Trusted Faces? Because that would be cool!

When is the N6 going to get thus OTA??

Yeah, I thought smart lock wasn't even there before, but yes it's there.

That's awesome. Can't wait to get that. Will just await OTA.

Why wait?, its just an apk...just install like any other apk. It wont harm nothing. I just installed it the other day. It definitely won't stop you from getting an ota.
I thought as soon as you turn the phone on from the box they sent one out?

They did send out an update right when I turned it on, but it didn't include this. So installing this apk will do nothing evil to my phone? I'm not worried that it's an APK but will it dutifully update the old one and erase it? Will my system look "normal" as far as Google is concerned? Don't wanna hack this new phone yet.

The instructions on the mirror say I need to match my last three digits of my current GPS version, which is 738. All they have available is 438. Assume I can't use that?

You know what, I cannot say with 100% accuracy that your phone will look 'normal' so I will say don't do it.
I just do it cos I could care less about an ota. I never will or want to get one.
The reason I say that is all the aftermarket 3rd party firmware in my eyes are just plain superior to stock.
And I mistakenly think that all ppl think the way I do about these phones. Sorry my bad.

Alright cool. Guess I'll wait.

What did you think of the 2014 Moto X (especially camera and battery life) and why did you return it? Just curious on your thoughts because my Dad is looking for a phone and I think I am going to buy this one for him for Christmas but always like to hear people's pros and cons in making a decision.

Really liked my 2013 model and could not wait to get the 2014. I liked everything about it except my earpiece volume was too low. That is a major pet peeve of mine so I returned it. I liked the size, features, battery life and the camera was average, but just did not like the low volume on calls.

I think we can put any concern over the battery life to rest now. That's absolutely stock, non-rooted, no power saving mode, with adaptive display running.

I've had 4 charge cycles so far and I'm also running Google Play Services 6.5.

Ended the day this way. Not your normal usage case, but the fact I can get 7 hours on screen on a weekend is huge. I've got zero concerns with this battery.

He probably had the screen on 0% most of the time, turned off Bluetooth, Location, connected always to WiFi, turned off ambient display, had the display sleep after 15 seconds of inactivity, and let the phone reach around 1-5% battery which is overall a bit extreme in my opinion lol.

On what are you basing your conclusions?

Did nothing of the sort. WiFi was on all day. Probably an hour off WiFi (LTE/HSPA+). Signal stats are in my favor----I use a MicroCell at home. Brightness is always at 50% with adaptive display on.
