Who got the Nexus 6? How is your battery? And How fast the turbo charger?

superior screen, superior camera

On paper yes... in reality the difference in minimal at best.... But both screen and camera is like Usain Bolt running a 9.58 seconds 100 meter dash (World Record) and Asafa Powell running a 9.74 seconds (next best behind Bolt) Yes Bolt (Note 4) is faster but if you were running Powell (Nexus 6) out there isn't like your asking the Refrigerator Perry (Motorola Star Tac) to go up against Bolt....

I have the Turbo, 6 Plus and the N6. The N6 and 6 Plus go the same distance with similar on screen time for me with my usage. The turbo is roughly the same.

I don't know why everyone is talking down the battery life on the N6. Right now I'm at 20% battery life and came off the charger at 6:30am with 3hrs 25mins on screen time.

I'm a happy camper and love this device!

I hate Samsung but I cannot lie or is a much better device. For the price nexus 6 is just not that good

Glad you like it. Is be pissed by that performance

I never said it was a landslide, but it's significant enough to make a difference. It's a lot more than minimal. The camera is better than I had anticipated so I'll concede that it's not much of an advantage for the Note, but battery and display certainly are.

You keep saying superior! Better? Yes, maybe... Depends on your personal taste and preference.. but it is minimal... I give the Note 4 a hair edge in screen & camera.... a slightly larger advantage in battery life... My preference is stock android over Touchwiz but there isn't anything wrong with Samsung software.. I give the 6 a slight advantage in build quality and unlocked off contact the 6 is slightly cheaper..

basically a wash! Can't really go wrong either way!

I have both in my hands right now. If you want me to switch "superior" to "better", sure. That's splitting hairs. There are quite a few things that are better on the Note 4, but one of the biggest things about a phone is software and that's where the Nexus takes over. You can stop getting antsy every time I mention a part of another phone is better than your Nexus. That's going to happen. The Nexus is fantastic and better than I anticipated, but I also acknowledge it's shortcomings. I also acknowledge the Notes. Touch response is slower than the Nexus. Recent apps is janky. The back cover, while easier to grip, feels cheap after you've used a phone like the Nexus. It goes both ways, man. I like the Nexus and want it to be better than it is----hope it will be.

Id like a Turbo with lollipop, not locked to Verizon and the Nexus 6 camera. I am liking this camera so far. I like the ballistic back on the turbo and I averaged 6-1/2 hours screen on and a day and 3 hours standby with it. Everything on but Bluetooth and NFC.

This phone can't touch the Note 4 in battery life and they have the exact same battery capacity. The reasons? Older generation AMOLED panel, software inefficiency on pure Android, and Samsung implemented a lot of battery saving tactics in their software. It's probably my biggest pain point with this device and I'm not optimistic that Google will fix it (they never really did on the 5), but I can live with it. The turbo charger does make a huge difference in these scenarios because you can replenish 10-20% in a few minutes. If they surprise me and this thing gets marginally better, that'll go a long way with me.

You high jack any thread with your Note 4 nonsense.... This thread said "How's your battery life and how fast is the turbo charger" Every response until this one right here (Number 23... the first time the Note 4 was drug into this thread) from you was just personal experience with the Nexus 6 and the battery life we were getting with our new devices... There is no mention or asking to compare battery life to your SUPERIOR Note 4.......

I was ignoring you for a while but in the middle of this thread you actually started to sound logical and objective on things (and in another thread on the AT&T recall) but you can't seem to accept that head to head in an all our war between the Note 4 and the Nexus 6 it would be a dog fight and neither phone would just blow the other one away... From a distance as I've only played with the Note 4 in the stores and had a guy at work show me his (I don't like to mess with someones personal device to test around.... Just personal pet peeve..... You've got your personal stuff on there and I don't want to stumble upon something I can't unsee or pretend I don't know about you) in a 12 round heavyweight fight it would be close... and the Note 4 would probably win on a split decision and each and every round would be close......

I even said in my last post you can't go wrong with either one...

You only think I sound logical when I'm being favorable to the Nexus. When I'm being objective on two devices that I -own-, you don't like it. I'll only say this once----I like the Nexus 6 better than the Note 4. For me, it's the software that I enjoy more and I actually like the build of the device better. I'm on your side, buddy, but I'm going to be honest about what is good or bad about a device.

Do you HAVE the Turbo, or are you basing your comment on reviews and forum posts?

If you DO have the Turbo, what are you doing with all 3 of those flagships?

Unless you have one of those lifestyles where you are literally never near a power outlet or car cigarette lighter port, or couldn't possibly carry an Anker external charger, I couldn't see tolerating Samsung's hideous bloat for a few extra hours of use per charge. The battery here is clearly sufficient for a day of moderate to heavy use. Do you REALLY need 6 hours screen on time with 30 hours of standby? If you do, OK, but otherwise, I couldn't stomach the bloat.

Need isn't the point. The point is that two phones with identical screen resolutions and identical battery sizes offer drastically different battery life. Read my previous posts on this forum - I was as gung-ho Nexus 6 as they come, but I find it very hard to excuse Google for roughly half the battery life of its closest Android competitor.

Right now I have about 3:20 screen time and I'm at 48% battery. That means that should I be stuck away from juice for any reason I at least know I've got plenty of use left. Nexus 6 users can't say they same and they should be able to, technically speaking, and it isn't cool. Google/Motorola should not be let off the hook so easily on this one just because "it's a Nexus", and I say that as a long time Nexus user.

Yeah same for me. I recognize where the Note 4 is probably better. But it is all about compromise. I simply hate touchwiz and their button configuration so much.

Interesting comments thanks to those that own the device. Glad I am waiting to hear all the real world stuff. I am not a heavy user and am pretty sure the Nexus 6 would easily last me an entire day. I usually get two days on my OPO, I get usually have 55 to 60% left after day one and recharge the evening of day 2 so that has spoiled me. Even the moto X 2014 was lasting me an entire day with about 25-30% left at the end of the day.

I am wondering if these QHD screens are worth it? I also had an LG G3 but was not happy with the heat that it generated when watching videos etc. Any issues with the Nexus 6 getting hot on the back watching videos on LTE? Thanks.

What did you think of the 2014 Moto X (especially camera and battery life) and why did you return it? Just curious on your thoughts because my Dad is looking for a phone and I think I am going to buy this one for him for Christmas but always like to hear people's pros and cons in making a decision.

Mornin'. Yes I have the Turbo and the 6 Plus. What am I doing with them all? Lol well why do some people have a Porsche, corvette and a mustang? I'm a smartphone enthusiast I guess you could say. I actually just sold the Turbo on Swappa (shipping it today) and will be listing the 6 Plus today on Swappa as well. I have decided that my daily driver will be the N6.

Nice. I think this phone is going to be a hit. The software that originally came with this phone was pretty glitchy and then the retail release software was much much better. I am pretty sure that Google as well as Moto are not going to leave this baby on the sidelines. There will be updates and the bugs will meet the boots!
