Got the ota today. Started fresh following a factory restore. I do wish that the transparent bars would stay transparent through navigation of other apps instead of just home screen.

I got the update but I am seeing the old home screen with version 4.4 , I got all the features but no new wallpapers and no home screen and GUI .... Is it expected????

No. No increase in performance noted so far. It just feels less cluttered and fresh.

You have to install the Google Experience Launcher.
How To Try The Google Experience Launcher With Translucent Bars And Google Now Once You Get Your KitKat Update [APK Download]

This was exclusive to the Nexus 5, but works on other devices. I have it on my N4 right now. I have not ran into any bugs, very smooth.
The transparent nav bars are application specific so as more devices get KitKat I assume more devs will be adjusting the code into their apps.

Another way to go to get the transparent nav bars on your home screen is the Nova Launcher Beta on 4.4. This will get you the very similar look, but not the Google Now integration.

No one seems to notice that you get GEL if you update Google search to the latest version. That's how I got GEL and am waiting for android KitKat.

Just walked in my house it connected to my wifi and the download popped up on my phone!!! I'm going to plug it in since it's low from being work all day and start the download!! I'm in Vancouver BC Canada

Got it earlier today. Already had the GEL installed, along with some other apps like email. All works great. Transparent panels and all. Home switcher is great. Canb switch over to Aviate anytime I want. Will be good to see it on my N7, but that'll happen soon. Not feeling so cheated now. Imbsure the GEL launcher will come to the Play Store soon.

4.4 was just pushed to my N4 a moment ago. It's currently installing.

So far, once I re-wiped again after the upgrade, it has been smooth sailing.

Sideloaded 4.4 16O and GEL. Flashed the LTE hack. Loving it. Then I flashed 16S from someone on XDA that included the LTE radio and started experiencing some weird stuff--lost the stock messaging app, notifications were spotty and superSU acted up and I lost root. I'd backed up so I just went back to 16O and all is buttery goodness. I don't blame 16S per se-- I'm pretty sure it was the ZIP file, but actually I don't see any advantage to the upgrade to 16S anyway. I am really liking this new launcher with the always listening Now...it works really really well and is fast to respond. Oh and I for one think the new white theme is very attractive and clean. Of course I will be trying some other ROMS as they appear, 'cause it's a Nexus and that's that!
