Who has decided to switch from an Android phone and buy an iPhone now?

From someone who's had both the iPhone and Android. I personally prefer Android. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone, but it's just easier for me to manage my files, write scripts, edit audio and photos, and utilize multiple applications on one file when needed. When I'm away from my computer and want to try something out, it's my go to gadget.

I actually considered the switch to iPhone. Started off Android, went to iPhone/ios and that lasted a month and since then on Android. It just feels like a mini computer. There are just some things that can't be replicated on an iPhone. Waiting on the v20 reviews once it's released.

After the Note 7 fiasco, I was close to going to the IP7 +. The battery life and camera on that device were very attractive for me. I went with the Pixel XL instead. The more hands-on, and early "reviews" I see, the better I feel about my decision. Of course, I won't know for sure until I have it in hand for a week or 2.

The media about Apples lawsuit against Samsung hitting the Supreme Court reminds me why Apple gets under my skin.
Really hoping for big things to come with Googles line as an oem in the future. Though am still going to wait for the reviews before placing an order.

Not for me. I have tried iPhones .. while not bad they just aren't for me.

I have an iPhone that I use for work, and it's a decent phone, but it's just so foreign to me.

One reason I never see mentioned is lack of quick charge. Could you go back to waiting hours and no quick top ups?

iPhone people are the exact opposite of Android people. iPhone people have no interest in customization or new tech.

really? i own an iphone 7 plus 256 gig and a s7 edge. I'm also an IT manager. I love new tech. customization is subjective. i set my phone up once when i get it and then I use it. I've been using the same wall paper for 6 years

X2. Been in IT for 20 years, and I enjoy new tech. I enjoy iPhones as much as I enjoy Android. I prefer iPhones though as they just work well out of the box. I do have an IP7 plus on order and soon Pixel XL on order.

I have used (over the years) Palm (not in a phone), Blackberry, Android and iPhone. I currently carry an MXPE which is my phone, and an iPhone 6 which is my employer's phone.
I generally prefer Android, but I see the advantage for some people of the Apple eco-system. My iP 6 just got updated to iOS 10, and, meh. I don't like the new behavior and I haven't had time to look into the settings to see if I can fix it.

Also, I keep reading about how great battery life is on iPhone, but I use the camera a lot for documenting stuff at work, and also use the phone as an actual, you know, phone. Those two things will suck the battery down in a hurry.

If I were to buy a "personal" iPhone, right now I would go with the SE with more base memory.

For my Android, I am intending to wait on the Pixel and XL to get actual release and see what happens. I am leaning toward a Black Pixel 128, but I want to see which one has better battery life in the real world, and see what actually happens with unlocked Pixels on Verizon. I also want to walk into a store and handle both.

Umm no. I will not be switching. My wife and a lot of my family members have an iPhone and I just don't care for them. I feel they're limited with their functionality after having been on Android (Nexus) for the last 4 years.

I've been back and forth between Android and iOS since the original Moto Droid X on Verizon. I've been using a 6s Plus since last December. It's been a really solid phone - good battery life, camera works well, little major issues - but the Pixel XL is what I've been waiting for. I'm an all Google guy. Still use Keep for notes, Google Play Music and Movies for entertainment, and Google for email, calendar, documents, photo backups, etc. I've been waiting for Google to jump fully into the ecosystem game, so I pre-ordered as soon as I could. I plan on eventually getting a Google Home, Wi-Fi, and Chromecast Ultra, and then the next Pixel Chromebook/tablet whatever that they plan to release. I've enjoyed my iPhone, and can't really fault it, but I prefer the Google ecosystem and can't wait to make a full-fledged return.

People that buy iPhones don't care about specs or customization. Generally, people buy an iPhone regardless of its specs, make it look like the previous iPhone they had and then forget about it. iPhone people want simple. Android people fight over specs and customize like crazy. Android people want features.

It's interesting that you ask.... I carry an iPhone 6 for work, and and always had an android as my personal phone since the inception.

I am currently using the Nexus 6p as my daily driver, and it's, by far, the best phone that I've ever, ever used...

However, with the end of the traditional nexus line, and the Pixel being somewhat lackluster (in addition, I held one, and it felt like a lightweight toy), I have already visited the store twice to play with the iPhone 7plus. I've never done this before.... But something is drawing me away...

That's what I like so much about the iPhone after using Android for years. Everything works right out of the box and there's no need for tweaking. It's like a PlayStation vs a PC. On Android I've spent endless hours on customization, trying to figure out rogue apps that killed my battery etc. With the iPhone I don't have to care about this stuff and can enjoy just using the phone. With regard to the quality of apps the closed ecosystem actually pays off as most apps look and work great because of their special optimization for the iPhone hardware. Again it's like on a gaming console. And what's more, I don't feel bad about being forced to use the standard Apple apps like Safari because they just work great. The only thing I'm missing from Android is Swiftkey, which is just better than on iOS. What I love about iOS is the seamless cloud backup feature. Google still hasn't implemented a decent backup.

Agree!

if you prefer to play with your settings and customize all the time, more power to you. I prefer to set my phone up and actually use it.

Thinking of going with the iphone 7 plus tbh..

I mean, The monster battery life, stereo speakers, water resistance, dual cameras, 3D touch system, A10 fusion, Imessageing, Taptic engine, 4K video recording, Build quality, Always-on siri, performance beast, IOS 10 UX and to put iceing on the cake, the mere fact that google offers every of the tops apps of ios just makes the iphone 7 plus mad tempting tbh.

I'm not even trying to think of all the crazy stuff jailbreaking will do for me on the iphone, then sometime I wonder what I'm still doing with android lol.

That said, can't wait to get my Pixel baby.. :D my only gripe is just the white app drawer and white settings page. Would have prefered a dark mode but oh well.. Can't wait to try out the google assistant vs google now tho

Everytime I'm very close to switching over to an iPhone, I remember the simple basic stuff like the fact that I can't even rotate a PDF file in any native app on the i phone. That pisses me off more than anything.

I may give iPhone a hard look next year, it'll be the 10th anniversary, so I figured the phone might be pretty damn good.

I have a Note 5 and OnePlus 3 (returned my Note 7 yesterday ) and and iphone 7 plus. I switch between them sometimes daily. It really is the best of things. I love Android but also love my iphones too!
