Who has received the EPIC 4G update?

I'm in the Bay Area and I got the update today (10/2/10) at 9:10 pm. Unfortunately, I was in an area of poor signal, but I went ahead and tried to update anyways. When the phone finished rebooting, I got an error message saying I had a bad connection and that it would try to update at a later time. However, when I check the phone under settings (baseband), it reads that I have the DI18 update. So is my phone updated or not?

same thing happened to me in ny, yet i have great signal. if memory serves this happened the last update too. i can no longer check for updates on my phone either.. i get an error mesage after the phone times out. phone shows the update occured

So is my phone updated or not?

Update: I ran Speedtest on my phone over 3g and I got Download speed of 554 kbps and upload speed of 744 kbps.

Anyone have a link to what else the DI18 update offers (and how I can confirm these other features)?

SAME EXACT thing happened to me. Went to settings and it showed that I was on DI18 but I too am wondering whether I'm actually updated or not. Have you (or anyone else) found out a confirmed way to find out, or is the Baseband version basically the confirmation?

I finally got the update this morning. It took all of 30 seconds to download and then the phone rebooted. I have decent 3g service and my dl have been around 1100 and ul have been getting uploads around 600 which is much better than before. I am happy so far by how well things have gone with the epic. Props to sprint and samsung.

Having issues...haptic feedback is now acting funny and window pop-open is not smooth at all...
Weird.

Real new to android...any way for me to go back to previous software version without rooting?
Should I have saved a file as backup before updating?

Still no update here... :) Yes, yes, I know I can do the manual update; since it's minor, I'm waiting to see just how long the OTA will take to roll my way, but if it's not here tomorrow, my little experiment is over and I'm doing it manually... this is NOT promising Sprint / Samsung!!! :)

BTW, I'm in MD...

I got it few days ago, the whole uoload issue def has been fixed, now just gotta wait on Froyo!!!

Update: Got my update this morning... it was waiting for me to wake up... :) Promising, but still slow! Work with me here Sprint / Samsung!!!

Still no update here...I really hope I wont have to manually update every thing on this phone. OTA was a huge thing for me after dealing with the moment.

Everyone relax, I got my update.:p Just playing. Got it after checking every 10 minutes for the update, it came in out of no where.(in Miami BTW)

Upload speed is great. And before if you were streaming Pandora and uploaded anything the music would start skipping and stuttering. Not anymore! This phone officially rocks!

Got mine on Monday, it is now Tuesday, and here is what I noticed. I am a heavy user. I text insanely and I am on a blue tooth non stop. I work in retail and in the morning before I get people in at 1:30pm, I am all alone. So, to keep the loneliness to a minimum I am on my blue tooth non stop with other managers. This way I can get my stuff done (only talk when no customers) and not be totally alone. That means I get a good indication on battery life while using both blue tooth and talk. I am soooo Happy. My battery life I know is at least 25%-40% better. Whatever they did, for the type of usage I do, so much better battery life. YEAH!!!

Help!! MAJOR battery problem after update!!!

Uh-oh, looks like I have a HUGE battery problem after I updated yesterday!

I just upgraded to the Epic on Saturday night...I friggin' LOVE this phone!! I installed LauncherPro and set up the phone exactly how I liked it. I was getting great battery life, even using the phone all day. Yesterday before the update, I took the phone off the charger and at about 7pm I was still at about 75%. Then I started playing some games and using apps, so it started draining.

At about 8pm last night I got notified of the update availability for DI18, so I d/l it and went to bed with the phone on the charger as usual. After that, the battery has been continually draining about 1% every couple of minutes!! I quickly plugged the phone into the charger, but it's been plugged in for about 10-20 minutes now, and it's still at 13%!!!

Anyone else have this problem???

First time someone has said they had any new problems after the patch that i have seen. I think the phone rebooted during the process? Once that was done did you toggle airplane mode and stop DRM from running? Even without doing them that just sounds like a huge drain.

The haptic feedback issue I am having on mine is weird.
It was perfect before ( i was tuned to its function because of what I read, so I knew i had working feedback)
After the update I have a home button that vibrates MUCH more than the others..and the page/back button is barely giving feedback.

Also, moving from one app to the next, or opening the applications screen is slow and seems to fade.

Okay, well after my post i pulled my battery for a few minutes, then plugged it in to charge. That was about 2:00pm, it started charging okay, and as of right now, 6:00pm, I'm at about 75%. I just read about the DRM thing, and I turned that off. ( I was wondering what that was!!). I'm not familiar with the Airplane mode thing. I went in and toggled it on and off....is that all I have to do? Just once? do I have to do that a couple of times during the day, or only after I turn it on or stop charging?
