Who is getting the Pixel Stand?

I was pretty sure I was going to get a pixel stand if I got a Pixel 3, but when I was in BestBuy today, they had their Google Assistant alarm clocks marked WAY down to $20/$25 (depending on size), so I got one of those. No need to use the pixel as an alarm clock anymore, though it may still live bedside at night.

I'm absolutely in love with the photo frame functionality when charging on Pixel stand. I moved the Pixel stand to my office and nice to see different pictures on the screen. You can also select a particular album is you are worried about privacy and don't know what pictures may display.

Just picked up one from BB and with the $40.00 bucks in rewards I had to use by end of month, got this for $43.00. Good way to use the rewards cash. Now I just need my P3XL..........

Can’t wait to get mine for free with my preorder...it’s pricy here in Canada, over $100. This will work with an iPhone 8+ as well right? Wife’s got one and she will probably want to use too, we don’t have wireless chargers in house this will be our first

Interesting, I just plopped my Pixel 3 XL down on a really old Tylt wireless charger and the fast charging message came up. Can that be possible? Phone is fully charged, so timing the gain ATM is not something I can do.

No it is not charging as fast as the Pixel Charger

This is correct. My Samsung wireless fast chargers show it's fast charging. But it's not. It's still slow. Still waiting for my pixel stand to arrive.

I ordered it last week online at Best Buy for local pickup and got the ready for pickup email... Bebop onto the BB today to snarf it and............... I guess they sold it to someone else! LOL..

Asked for the manager who had no clue why it would have been taken from the hold for pickup area and sold to someone else but it was, or so I was told. My suspicion is an employee snarfed it since they are on back order....

Offered me a whopping $10 gift card for my troubles and said they can have one for me sometime middle of November.. Told him to pound sand and cram the gift card, nicely of course.....

I might order from VZW as I see they say it's in stock and ready to ship.....

Edit to add I did order from VZW with arrival slated for Tuesday...

Could you do some testing with a charging app like Ampere, to see if it's really charging as (or nearly as) quickly? There was similar debate about "turbocharging" with the Moto Z's when they came out, and arguments about compatible fast chargers. Ampere (and probably similar apps) will actually show the current charge/discharge rate.

I've asked of this on Reddit, here's the conclusion:

-Only the pixel stand appears to be truly fast wireless charging 1500-1600mA according to Ampere
-Samsungs latest "fast wireless charger" wont fast charge it, only ~500mA
-Neither will amazon rated 10w "fast wireless chargers", also only ~500mA

So, I've found no solution other than the pixel stand.

And the phone is charged.

I just popped mine on my Tylt and get the same result, ~500mA. At least it is consistent.

Hopefully the stand goes on sale for a better price.

I ordered my stand from VZW and I do not think it dropped shipped from Google as it's coming from Memphis, TN via free 2 day shipping...

I've never gotten anything from Google that's shipped from there..
