I pre-ordered my Pixel 3 through Verizon so I should be getting one for free. I'm a huge fan of wireless charging and really missed it on the Pixel 2.
Is there a way to have the P3 be unlocked when on the stand (other than using trusted places)? Can the stand be set as a trusted device? Otherwise, as I understand it, GA usage is lock limited and the stand covers part of the fingerprint unlock, so you have to tilt the phone forward to unlock. If so, that seems very clunky and not well thought out. TIA
If you need to use the phone, why not just pick it up and use it.
If your gonna be on the phone for a while, just plug it in ?

So I take it you can't take the time to input your pin on the screen and touch ok to unlock your phone. This folks is a first world problem if I've ever seen one or you just have an excuse for anything that people suggest . Good luck with life dude.
why wouldn't you use trusted devices? unless you don't trust your home
Ooooh, sick burn dude ... of yourself. Clearly you're one of those who prefer to click 'Post reply' and remove all doubt, since the answer that makes your post laughable is right above it.
Of course I can input a pin and unlock, but then why pay for a 'smart' charging stand? Hell, I can make any cheap bluetooth item "trusted" or even make an entire location trusted and get more functionality than on Google's $79 'smart' stand. It's baffling that they didn't give Pixel stand the option to be a trusted device.
And everything else in that post was condescending, snarky and wrong.Of course the poster is correct. You are complaining about first world problems ...
I agree with your point. It is a strange design decision that Google did not make unlocking the phone more user friendly when on a device ostensibly built for the Pixel 3/XL

Mine is arriving tomorrow (from the Google Store).
However, I'm not crazy about the white color. Too "Appley" for me (plus I have the black Pixel 3). I'm thinking of spray painting it gloss black. Has anyone tried this yet?
