Who is NOT rooting and NOT using custom ROM's, and why?

For those who are saying rooting or unlocking bootloader will void warranty but that is not completely true.

I've rooted and bootloader unlocked and had to RMA for display color inconsistency. I was being honest with the representative and told my phone was rooted and bootloader unlocked. The google guy said Google doesn't care what you do with your phone. If it's the hardware defect then they'll honor the warranty replacement. So I sent my phone with root and bootloader unlocked and received a replacement.

This might be the different story if you bought it from retailers other than Google play store.

Seems like Google is encouraging people to do whatever they wish on the phone since developers build their apps based on Google branded phones.

To make my story short, Google didn't care weather my phone was tempered with or not (software) and replaced my phone and sent mine with rooted and unlocked bootloader. But I gave them with stock ROM.

I have the best experience stock. I do turn off services I don't use. I find kit kat 4.4.2 actually does best for me. The only thing I do is use a third party SMS app called 8sms. I don't care for HangOuts. I rarely have "Google Now' turned on ..... I really don't use it and just use the google search. I prefer the stricter limitations on location processes. For me ..... exactly where I am isn't a feature I need unless I'm using google maps. It also sucks battery life. So it works well for me!

Re: Who is NOT rooting and NOT using custom ROMs, and why?

Ive kept my nexus 5 all stock because I value my warranty and i have a first batch model (with protruding side keys and smaller speaker holes) and want to keep it as original as possible. I even use stock wallpaper and Hangouts default for my ringtone. The only thing ive changed is the keyboard because SwiftKey is just so much better than the fugly Google stock keyboard.

Stock rooted ROM with art enabled. 3 hours of screen on time. No battery saving apps just Franco kernel R48. This is why I'm rooted.
