Who is planning to trade in for the Note 10?

there was only 150 and 300 offered for the Note 8 and Note 9 here so just Note 10 bought straight out instead, not letting them go for that price, I'll sell off the Note 8 but the 8gb/512gb dual sim Note 9 is hard to let go considering I only paid 607 quid for it brand new a few weeks ago

I keep my phone in my left pants pocket, upside down, screen facing inward. When I reach for the phone, my left thumb can press the sensor before the phone even exits my pocket.

When I want to use the phone without removing it from its charging stand, it's similarly quick to use the fingerprint sensor. When I'm already holding the phone, I can use the thumb of my other hand, also quick and easy.

I keep mine in a holster or in my pants facing outward to avoid accidental capacitive touches. I take it out and it is usually unlocked just by picking it up.

For me, I can think of one very specific, but uncommon, situation where a front fps would be best. That is when I have managed to let my phone lock while in the car dock

To me the 10plus IS the Note 10. The smaller one is just a cheaper alternative. Note light.

If I had a phone to trade in to get it down to $600 or so, it would be a no brainer. But, I don't. So, I can't. Sticking with Note9 for foreseeable future. I didn't get excited over any of the new features, as few as there were. I want physical camera sensor upgrades, not smoke and mirror upgrades.
Enough with the tricks. Just replace the main sensor already.

I'm confused. If you have a Note 9, you have a trade in worth $600. That gets the price (before tax) down below $600 for the N10 or N10+.

I found this video on a Note 9 vs Note 10+. It shows the phones side by side with not much difference in size, just screen display. Also a few other items and specs. I'll be upgrading because I can and want to. Not sure about preordering yet since my 9 isn't paid off and I'll just trade up. My phone is my major purchase. I don't have cable or internet at home and still a small 24" TV (crochet or play with my phone while I watch) and my laptops have been inexpensive ones.

I'm trading my S10e for the Note 10 since it isn't much larger. At least I will try it a few days to decide if I want to keep it or not.

Excellent video, thank you for posting that. All things considered, I would say it's a decent, if not overwhelming upgrade. I'm going to give it a couple of months and see how it holds up in a long length review and then decide whether to upgrade. I expect it to hold up well, though.

If the Note 10 got the new camera module with 5x zoom, I would be all over it. But Samsung decided to hold that off for the S11 (which is highly disappointing as they could've added it to the Note 10 I read) , so I'm not excited about anything on the Note 10 enough to upgrade my Note 9 512gb version. Guess I'll wait for the S11 or Note 11

Samsung is offering $150 gift. You can choose the galaxy buds and aimething else.
Right now I'm thinking I'll keep my Note 9 another year. Based on the missing headphone jack and the lack of new features to get me excited. I'm too cheap to upgrade to wireless headphones. LOL

The Note 10 Plus has the same footprint as the Note 9. It has a sd card slot. Led can function around the front camera. Use the USB-C jack in place of the 3.5 jack , with a $15 adapter. Put a pair of good USB-C headphones on your Christmas list. (a pair comes with the Note 10s). Or maybe some Galaxy Buds. The Note 10 Plus is a nice and meaningful upgrade regardless of what the reviewrs say because they compare it with the S10 but it should be compared with a Note 9 in regards to upgrade features. IMHO.
I really can't see myself upgrading and I would have done if it was worth it. BUT... No iris scanner, no LED, no SD (unless you want a 10+ which is too big for me and my wardrobe(!)), and no headphone jack is a hell of a sacrifice for a couple of mills less bezel (and a thinner phone... but the N9 is hardly a brick!). Plus a hole in the display, plus a fatter notification bar which takes away the advantage of the thinner bezel in any case. Why on earth would I choose that? Plus I'd have to wait for a new Brodit car charger to come out and they are expensive. (OK I don't need to do that but they are my favourite and the best IMO). Plus the cost of a new Clear View case... No thanks. Lucky I love the N9!

Note 10 Plys has sd card slot. Headphones can be used by using a $15 adapter thru the USB-C port.
I plan on staying with my Note 9; no compelling reason to upgrade. My device still works well. Besides I like having a headphone jack and a microSD card slot.

The Note 10 Plus has more several new features compared to my Note 9. 256gb storage, 12GB ram, 4 cameras on read including time of flight camera ., 6.8 screen vs. 6.4..... 3.0 storage, new SPen features, narrower, lighter, .

Underscreen fingerprint scanner, Snapdragon 855 processor vs. Snapdragon 845, Samsung Dex now works using USB-C cable, screen recording, link to Windows, stream games from PC to Note 10 Plus, AI game booster, and more.

Keeping my new note 9 and pre-ordered 2 of the Aura Glow.

Last phone possibly from Sam with a phone jack?
Trading in hers, keeping mine.

I actually like the smaller Note. I like that I will be able to hold it in my hand better and I can still have an s-pen :)
Correction...

Still at BB playing with them and now playing with the Regular S10s...

The only time I'd consider the smaller Note 10 is if I was considering the S10+... Yeah... You lose QHD again with the Note and headphone jack but... But.. and... Uh...

Hmm... Now that I said it,... maybe I'd get a heavily discounted S10+ over the smaller Note 10. And I definitely wouldn't let go of a Note 9 for it. Lol.

What is the purpose of the smaller Note??

From the specs, I don't see much difference, especially if you're using a Note 9 right now.
The dimensions aren't that much different.
N10 : 5.94 x 2.83 x 0.31
10+ : 6.39 x 3.04 x 0.31
N 9 : 6.37 x 3.01 x 0.35

But some do like smaller phones. I suggested to a manager to get a bigger phone. He had an iPhone Max. Went back to a small iPhone. Said he'll go to a flip when he retires in a few years.
