Who still has their Nexus 4?

I'm back on my N4 - I sold my N5. The 4 definitely seems worse now after spending a year with the 5. Definitely miss LTE, the battery is really dicey, and the camera is unusable by comparison.

Still a snappy handset though and should tide me over until the N6 arrives.

I still have mine. Still works like a charm except for the power button which is occasionally stubborn.

I've been on vacation for the past several days, and it's reminded me how bad the battery is. For example, yesterday I left the hotel around 9 am with a full charge. I checked email is it came in, my wife used Facebook a few times and Fit ran in the background. By 5 pm, the battery was dead. That wouldn't cut it if, for example, I was hard core about Fit and thus would be pissed at losing a few hours of activity.

Just wrapped the nexus 4 with lollipop and I'm pretty happy with it. I'll probably root it again but use it as is for now to get the vanilla nexus experience.

Did u get the OTA or did you load it with the factory image?

Two years later the nexus 4 is still my favorite android phone exterior. The style of the glass back combined with the usability and practicality of the rubberized outer rim were ideal.

There is no OTA yet. Everyone who has a N4 with Lollipop flashed it. Most recent word is next week.

*requesting some advice:

tried to root (keeping everything else stock like before) but the binary won't update. previously it was easy peasy with kitkat but in this case it won't root.

previously used CWM and SuperSU with success, also tried TWRP and Superuser but the binary won't update. any suggestions? thanks!

**update**

CF-Root method (in place of SuperSU zip) worked as painlessly possible to root the n4

Flashed with Lollipop Friday night. So much better than before, and Lollipop is so much better on phones than Tablets... It is a little boring on the Nexus 7. The phone bits are just great.

So far the battery seems to be doing a bit better than with KitKat. Definitely noticeable.

My Nexus 4 has aged well, I've noticed the battery is easily drained. I use my phone for directions with my daily commute and traffic updates. Regular use will drain the battery, but if left on standby it will hold the charge... Not much point to that, the phone is meant to be used. Hoping with Lolly the battery saving may give my Nexus 4 more life. I already have my next phone, the Z Ultra, big difference in battery life.

It's still working right for me, I won't be getting a new phone for at least another year or more! The only common case with everyone is the battery life. I turn off data at night and while I am at work and only turn it on when I need to check email or awaiting email or playing online multi-player games. Playing Injustice Gods among us drain the battery in about 90 minutes. I don't know what to get in a year from now maybe that Nexus 6 64gb by then I hope the price had gone down!

Same here. Everything else about this phone still rocks, but the woeful battery life means I'll definitely be replacing it if Lollipop doesn't make a significant difference.

Speaking for myself, Lollipop does make a noticeable difference, but nothing revolutionary. The N4 had bad battery life before; now it's less bad, but it's still nowhere near good. In short, if you didn't think your battery life was acceptable before, I doubt Lollipop will change your opinion.

I got a used one off Ebay last year. It still runs pretty fast. Unfortunately I dropped it on the floor one day, which cracked the glass :(

For that same reason(battery life) I picked a Galaxy S4 for cheap a few months ago. I still hate Touchwiz, but not as bad as not having a removable battery. I am not sure that I will ever buy another phone without a removable battery. I am just coming off of vacation myself and being able to do a battery swap a couple of times convinced me not to every buy another phone with a built in battery.
