So who is going to be brave and actually try there s7 out in a pool or other body of water

Re: Who's brave enough

I have total faith in the IP68 rating. I'll be comfortable using it out in the rain, but I'm not going to purposely dunk it in a pool.

Re: Who's brave enough

That was pretty cool, but RIP charging cable. Haha. If you do bring it in water while on holiday, make sure you stay in the shallow end of the pool and I wouldn't advise putting it in salt water.

Re: Who's brave enough

I would avoid the pool all together if possible. Ip68 is only rated for 5 feet in stagnant tap water. Any flows or streams, and it could get damaged. It is really only for accidents.

Re: Who's brave enough

Chlorine/Bromine is not good for seals, as it will eventually eat away at the rubber. Sure if you drop it in by accident you'll be ok, but I wouldn't want to just start a new underwater photography hobby in your pool with your S7.

Re: Who's brave enough

Haha yeah I'll be using it in the shower and a few times in the pool but I will probably still just hold the phone above water because it's nervous keeping it under water.

Re: Who's brave enough

The screen won't work properly when wet so it is not really operational when wet.

Re: Who's brave enough

I had the S6 Active which is also ip68 and I used it for dozens of hours at depths up to 8 feet taking thousands of videos and photos. I am sure this phone would handle the same. They included a photo mode called "aqua" which removes the inputs from the screen and lets you use the physical buttons for controlling the camera. it'd be nice if this retained that feature...

Re: Who's brave enough

I had a pretty decent experience with my S5 in the pool back in the day.
