Who's actually going to use 4G all the time?

i think i'll be using it all the time i'm gonna have the phone plugged into my computer at work anyways so i don't care about the battery drainage

what about you are you gonna use 4g all the time?

It will be used as much as possible. Unless I go out of town. Here at my house i should have awesome 4G, and while at work shouldn't be bad either. I will have power available if needed.

hopefully it will work good in my location. the best point i have is i looked at the coverage map and i should have excellent 4g coverage where as att struggles to keep 1 single bar of cellular coverage. i laugh everytime someone comes over with att and they have to use my sprint phone to make a call (considering most ppl still think sprint is horrible) and i always tell them i thought att was the best. they dont like that too much, and if im in a good mood that day ill tease them at how much less i pay for my bill with everything included

I will definitely use it as much as possibly, hopefully all the time. Does the 4g radio go into any kind of power saver mode while using a wifi connection?

That could be a chicken or the egg thing.

Using 4G implies you're using something that's hardware intensive such as video chat.

So what's actually pulling down the battery, 4G or video chat?

I don't see the need to have it on unless I'm actively using the data connection at the time. From what I understand u can't use 4g for voice calls so what's the point in keeping it on 24/7? I think 3G is perfectly capable of handling my background data downloads (calendar, contacts, email). So I'll save the battery life by leaving it off, although I'll probably test it out for a few days at first.

Can't you go just pure voice & 4g? That's my plan when it's available in NYC. I read one review, I can't remember where at this point, that said straight up 4G w/no 3G at all was actually better for the battery. The statement was something about being in a fringe location and switching back and forth between EVDO & WiMax. Who knows 'til we get there.

I will use 4G all the time i'm away from Shrute Farms. We have so much 4G around here that I practically have no choice, it's good to be living in TX right now!! Oh and btw, Shrute Farms IS in TX and NOT Scranton.

i guess it depends on how fast it drains battery, but i hope to use 4g all the day.

If alot of you are turning off 4g because of battery life, then why get the phone and pay the extra??
