Unfortunately for me, I've decided not to Pre-Order the EVO. That's unless Sprint offers a Pre-Order soon. I've had too many bad experiences buying phones elsewhere. So it looks like its going to be an old fashioned camp out! I don't know if you technically want to call it a camp out cause I only plan on arriving @ 5am and me and a buddy are going to wait it out.

Luckily for most of us Pre owners that bought around launch day(June 2009), are eligible June 1st. You are if your a premier customer that is. I plan on waiting it out at one of the slowest sprint corporate stores in town. Plus I'm sure it helps I've bought the staff there Starbucks numerous times.

It would have been nice of sprint to offer their premier customers a pre-launch party for the evo at certain stores so we could get our hands on them a few days before, I believe they did that with the Pre yes ?

So who else has camp out plans ? and where ? Lets hear em !

I'm not, I learned my lesson with the Pre. There were TONS available and I was a complete fool for sitting out waiting. Yes there was a line, but I got there around 4:30am and was the only one there until 7am and only one person came, then 7:30 rolled around and about 10more came.. that was it.

I don't know about that. Recent articles list the Pre as being "understocked" during launch time. I know I was on 2 different waiting lists at 2 different sprint stores for almost 2 weeks before one called me and said they had one for me.

Lets hope, launch day we all get one without issue.

I waited 2 weeks for the Pre at Best Buy and was very high on the pre-order wait list.

Camping here in Ohio. My first camping trip was for the Prre and the store I was at (largest in the capitol of my state) sold out like 3/4's of the way through the line. Unless Sprint says that we can't buy the phone at full retail on launch day I will be there.

I wouldn't see why they wouldn't. I even confirmed through calling sprint the EVO was going to be available Online as well as telesales. When i wake up early on launch morning, I'll prolly just order it online if its there.

Otherwise camp is on

My time is more valuable to me then that. I made that mistake with the Pre getting there just 1 hour early. I still would have been in the first three had I shown up at opening time. But I also did the preorder from BB this time around. Would have done so with the Pre had the option been there.

Will never camp out again for a phone after the Pre "launch." Get why Sprint and others like the idea of lines bursting out stores, but if you're not expecting an overload of customers at launch, just make it available pre-order. Truly feel that would have helped the Pre and may hurt the EVO that Sprint stores do not pre-order. Was going to allow a week or so to get some feedback on the Evo, but as soon as I heard Best Buy was doing pre-orders, bingo, went and did it.

I might be camping out at BB even thought I pre-ordered. I am leaving for Vegas that day and don't want to deal with any "issues/appointments".

Plus, when I camped out for the Pre, I was given an instant $100 rebate(on top of the mail-in rebate) because the manager forgot the keys and we had to wait an extra few minutes for him to go back home and get them. :)

Where at in Ohio?

I've never seen anyone camp out at any stores in LA. I still plan to go to a store that doesnt have much traffic. I hope this doesnt end up bad in my favor

I helped my aunt "camp out" for the 3Gs Launch, they had plenty of the 16GBs, but not much in the 32GBs, We were about 8 in line, and by the time they got to us the choices was limited...

Needless to say... I pre-ordered 1st day of RS availability.

The only issue with Pre Orders is that if the device it big enough (no pun intended), then they are likely to oversell and not be able to deliver at go time.

Sprint claims they know they made a mistake with the Pre thing and selling out and that they're making sure to have more than enough evos
