Who's ditching the fold 7

"Ditched" mine after three months to go back to the S23U for the better cameras.

Was a temp thing until the 26U but honestly it hasn't excited me enough to upgrade so not sure what I will do.

I'm back to using the fold 7 for primary line again. S26U is a great phone, but for primary phone I want the open to big screen feature back. I am crossing my fingers privacy screen will be on the fold 8, that's probably the main thing I will miss

Fold 8 is going to be a difficult decision..I'm not sure if I would like the small squatty form when it's folded. I might have to see it at best buy first.

I'll probably order the wide and the regular at preorder and then cancel the one I decide not to get. I can't get behind on the preorder process.

Yeah get some hands on to determine
For me I already know how the passport style feels and looks from the first pixel fold so I like that

I definitely wouldn't say I'm ditching my F7. But, I passed on the 26U and needed something else to hold me over until the F8.

Yes that nothing phone looks very nice. Do tell us how it stacks up to Samsung flagships. Interested but I'm not sure how the overall experience is.

With how well they did with the Fold 7, I would be hard pressed to be impressed enough with anything on the Fold 8 that would make me switch. They really can't make it any thinner. The crease is so not-noticeable for me that no-crease wouldn't sway me. I work from home so battery is never an issue for me. So not really sure what they could do...

Of course, I say that now before the official specs come out. lol

I'm not sure they could do much on the fold 8 to give me a huge wow factor. Most yearly upgrades don't, but going to the fold 7 from the fold 6 was a significant upgrade. Main reason I upgrade yearly on the folds are the inside screen, less chance of issues, the inside screen protectors seem to start lifting on center of screen at the fold. I will say there seems to be less worry on the screen protector bubbling on the fold 7.

I'm going to look at the 8 wide, but I'm not sure I will like the smaller format when closed. If I do upgrade this summer, I'll probably pre-order both the fold 8 and 8 wide. I'll go look at it at a best buy and cancel one or both of the pre-orders. The fold 7 is a hard phone to leave.

I will edit this to say if the fold 8 series have screen privacy, that will probably get me.
