Who's getting it? (EVO 3D)

In the video Phil made, they mention that they will sell a case with built in kickstand...so...problem solved...

Kickstand or not, I am definitely getting it! 3d also isn't the selling point for me, it's the faster CPU/GPU that I want, but I am sure it'll make for a good conversation piece and it'll probably be fun taking pictures with it.

If the next evo was only incrementally different like the thunderbolt I would've passed. But I believe with Dual core, qhd screen, gingerbread, sense 2.0 etc....the 3D is a truly worthy successor to the original. Barring a lot of negative reviews I'll be getting this phone on launch day as I did the original on June, 4th last year.

I'll be getting 2...

One to replace my EVO and the other to replace my wifes PRE.

Cant wait!!!!

Yep i believe i will be getting one as well. I have 3D tv & monitor so the added 3D video and pics will work out good since i have the gear already.
Just gotta wait i guess. So what do you think? June for sure? Sooner?

Insane specs...Oh boy and just wait untill they get cyanogen on there..Its going to be vicious for real

I'm definitely getting this when my upgrade hits in August to replace my EVO which I will pass on to my girlfriend, I'll probably be a month or so behind by August but better late than never. The dual core is the selling point for me, if the hardware would have been similar with just adding 3d then I'd just stick with my EVO...

Also the bigger battery is a plus too. Is it true there's no 4G??? If so that's no big deal since it's not available where I live, but it is about 30-45 minutes up the road so it might get here soon

The EVO sent this on its own...

Hi, another Pre owner (and longtime precentral.net member) who looks to jump to an Android device.
Yeah, the Evo 3D looks killer, and after using an original launch day Pre, I'm ready to join the Android Army.
The Pre 3 isn't thrilling me and if it isn't 4G, then my mind is made up.

So I was torn with the nexus and this. But I'm pretty sure this.

The lack of led notifications and SD card was border line. But now that I looked more into it: coming from the epic its a big step down. The camera isn't as good for some reason and it only does 480p video. Yea. No.

Deff getting the evo.

No LED notifications on the Nexus? Solved with NOLED app from the market. No SD Card storage? Solved I dont need 32GB I have a 16GB and have less than 4 GB used! For pictures I use Picasa so after I take a picture its stored in the cloud, and now with Amazon allowing up to 20GB of free storage with an album purchase? Wow- Everything will be and IS cloud based people so memory wont be a problem going forward for ANY device...I am getting the Nexus and selling my current Evo, tired of waiting on skinned devices for updates. Besides love it or hate it the Nexus IS Google's baby so it will be 1st in line for any updates.Period.

I will be picking this up and giving my EVO to my brother. I too would love to see a non 3D version with one camera on the back instead of two as I see the 3D more as a gimmick instead of a selling point. The rest of the specs are what I am looking for in an upgrade with dual core, more RAM, higher res screen, camera button, etc. The specs have to be or I would just hang on to my EVO.

How do you solve 480p video capture? And the off color of the camera?use children as stunt doubles to film at a closer angle and die their clothes in richer colors. Lol.

I yes I love the fact that its Google but htc ain't bad. They had 2.2 before this damn epic came out and this is finally the first release of if this month.

I am not saying that HTC is better than Sammy ( hell NO! ) I love HTC and WISH that Google didnt allow Sammy to create this Plastic wearing Nexus. Now thats out of our hands, its still a Nexus, and yes Sammy takes a LONG time to update their phones, but again this is not Sammys phone, its Google's just created by Sammy.

As far as the video capture, I will be fine, video capture is really not a selling point to me, and the last time I checked Engadget, and Cnet reviews it had a better camera than the reg Evo so for me it would be an upgrade in that department. Now that Google ( Andy Rubin to be exact ) is getting more control of Android, I dont expect there to be more Sense, Touchwiz, and Blur in the future which is good news for all of us.

Google tightening control of Android, insisting licensees abide by 'non-fragmentation clauses'? -- Engadget

Even if the Evo3D were to be stock Android 2.3 with no 3D I would still be excited for this phone with all the nice specs it's going to have. I wish I didn't get rid of my Evo but i was curious on the dual core on the Atrix. Whoever is on Sprint, this is a must

I like the dual core, I like the increase in screen resolution (if not a very small increase), and I like the software upgrades. I don't like 3D, I don't like the fact that there is no kickstand (I was part of the few who used it all the time I guess). But in the end this comes down to my pocketbook and I don't have the money and my upgrade isn't for a while.

I don't think that I'll be getting the EVO 3D. I one of the guys that has to have a device that has a slide out qwerty keyboard and the EVO 3D doesn't. I'll just wait and if HTC releases a follow up to the Merge/G2/EVO Shift that has a 800 Mhz dual-core processor... At this point I can't go with a touchscreen only phone regardless of how much I salivate over it lol.

I think I'll be getting one. It's a suitable successor to my Hero. :D

Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Gingerbread-on-Hero action here!
