who's going naked?

One factor in why I'm going naked is because of the back. Its removable and replaceable unlike my iPhone 5. :) I know i know... it doesn't protect the front..

My friend had this philosophy of Phones are meant to be used causeless and have wear and tear.. maybe he's right if you don't plan to sell your phone when you upgrade.

In the past before i had a decent job, i would re-sell my phones when i upgrade. I tend to just keep everything or give them to my parents or nephews now when i upgrade.

I felt that way when I had flips/non-smartphones. Then I go to sites like Swappa, and see old phones (like a G3) getting decent resale value. iCrap has very good resale value, but it is still iCrap...I was/am considering getting at least one 5S and selling it for near new price (and people will buy it...)

My Note 2 just had a flip cover case. Back was all scratched up, but the front was protected with a screen protector. Had like maybe a .01% scuff, and I still sold it for nice change (because I had a back cover that was never used and hence, the phone was near mint after a couple of months of use.

So yeah, I will do my best to protect the phone. All you naked phones means I'll have better resale value. :D

Base on my history, after over 30 (Dummy & Super) phones I only dropped three. I also haven't kept a phone for more than 6+ months so the odds are on my side.

hTc One changed my attitude on using cases, they are generally expensive, ugly and/or add bulk. Naked feels better and I'll risk it.

I've always carried phones and PDA's naked and with no screen protector. That's how I carried the Note 2 and It's how I'll carry my Note 3.

I do place the phone in a proper fitting leather holster (landscape orientation, folding flap over the top with magnetic closure, tension belt clip). I keep the holster clipped to the side corner of the front/right pocket of my jeans. In 22 years of carrying PDA's and phones in this manner I've yet to drop or damage one.

I also have a portrait oriented leather sleeve (no belt clip) from PDAir for carrying the phone around in the house when I'm not wearing the holster. Just keeps the phone from getting damaged should someone knock it off a table or counter.

Both the holster and the sleeve were used with my Note 2 and both fit the Note 3 nicely.
