who's leaving android to iPhone 6 or 6+

I personally think I'm going to go for the Spigen Neo Hybrid. Looks pretty nice.

I purchased it on the 10th, still hasn't shipped and the reviews on Amazon say they the buttons don't work as they should and a whole bunch of stuff, it has 3* on Amazon now, I'm trying to cancel it and wait until they fix the cases and then purchase.

It was supposed to ship yesterday but didn't, first product I bought on Amazon that didn't ship on time.

That sucks about the shipping. I read today that the company was sending out stuff to fix that, to owners with the button problems. And some haven't had any problems at all. If they haven't already, I think they'll fix it up.

Yea, a lot of people are complaining that the stuff they sent them to fix it is too much work and they don't feel the the fix will work for long.

I think I'm just going to go with incipio for the time being, once they come out with the "stowaway".

To the OP, I did the opposite- I went to Android after having iPhones from the original to the iPhone 5. Even though the 6 and 6+ have finally upsized the screens, I am tired of the same old thing from Apple. iTunes, the iOS, the same old same old. Every time they came out with a new model or an iOS update, it was a mild upgrade, and I missed being excited about getting a new device because it was basically the same as the old device with some minor tweaks. I am loving the Android OS, the many hardware innovations yet to appear on iPhones (I bought a Moto X 2nd gen). Maybe in 5 years, I'll tire of the "newness" of Android and will switch back. But I doubt it. It's been fun to personalize the phone, to add widgets that I like... I am disappointed by the Moto X's camera and battery (I was disappointed by the iPhone 5's battery too), so I might be jumping to a Nexus 6 or a Droid Maxx (I'm on AT&T), but by and large, I am really happy with my new toy, and I haven't been able to say that about a new device in years, and I think that's the result of the iPhones' restricted personalizations. You just can't really make it your own, with launchers and endless widgets, Moto voice control- I mean, my phone knows when I'm driving and reads my texts to me- that kind of thing doesn't happen on iPhones...

WTF?

Yeah, I saw something like that too.

Lol at people getting mad that "the best phone you can buy" doesn't line up to their opinions of what it should be. Does it really matter what the verge or Forbes tells you? Can't you make that decision on your own? Lol

I love how he says over and over...... "it's not perfect, but it's the best thing out there." sounds a bit oxymoron to me.... His review certainly didn't help anyone. Everyone needs to pick/choose what works best for them!

No matter what you say is the best phone, I seriously doubt it's perfect. His point is that the phone has a few downfalls (like every phone) and it won't appeal to everyone (like every phone). In short, he's saying it's not the best phone for everyone. Hardly an oxymoron. But I agree - you can't let other people choose for you.

Why must something be perfect to be what he considers the best?

Apparently there is a some disagreement on what is best. Forbes liked the Moto X 2014 better than either iPhone.

How good is the new Moto X? In short it is the best smartphone I’ve used this year. Yes that means better than the LG G3, Nokia Lumia 930, HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z3 and iPhone 6

Marketshare numbers tell me what I need to know. People vote with their wallets.

Lol have you ever gone to college? You seem to put a ton of weight behind market share but I'm not quite sure you know how it actually works.

I totally understand how it works...when Apple is in the lead, it is really important. When Apple is not in the lead, marketshare doesn't matter anymore.

Engadget seems to have made it's choice as well.

The OnePlus One is everything my iPhone wasn't

GirlByeKimK_V3.jpg

After last month's iPhone event, I was disappointed -- I realized the iPhone 6 and its "Plus" sibling were still catching up to Android in a lot of ways. Regardless, the devoted iPhone fan in me still pre-ordered an iPhone 6 a few days later, in the wee hours of September 12th.

.. It wasn't until the next morning, on a four-plus-hour flight to Atlanta, while playing with the phone more intensely than ever before, that I had an epiphany. I made a mistake in ordering the iPhone 6 when I had an excellent phone around me all along. Once I got to my hotel room, I canceled my iPhone 6 preorder.

This story is pretty common. People who choose iPhone do so because of the myths surrounding is supposed usability and polish. Once they actually try an Android device, they get a more balanced view without the whitwashing from Apple's marketing dept.

Lol I can smell the bias from here.
