Lovely blue. I'm looking forward to the big screen. What colour are you getting?
Yes the front screen looks like a regular phone, in fact the phone is so thin and so regular phone look alike, that when I walked into the store and was looking for the new foldables I only saw regular phones until I realized that these are actually the new foldables![]()
My case I ordered with phone is showing preparing for shipping. I was talking to rep about the $50 reserve credit and she said the order is preparing for shipping, I said the case is not the phone, she said on her end it also shows the phone is shipping. This seems fast but my order " In Progess" the odd thing is they already generated the trade in label.
Were you thinking of using the $50 on the case?My case I ordered with phone is showing preparing for shipping. I tried cancelling th case portion and it denied the request saying it's shipping. On the order, the case is showing preparing for shipping. Usually Samsung ships the accessories and phone together, so either way, this is weird. My return label is also generated and ready for printing.
The rep said that is not true. They said we are suppose to use the link in the email that will probably come next week. Were you thinking of using the $50 on the case?
The $50 can only be used on devices ear buds , watches etc.
Typical Samsung. I'm not going to worry to much about the discount. Samsung is getting more shady every year it seemsI was on with 2 different reps both wouldn't brake .

It's definitely always all about preference, have you had a chance to take a look at the phone in person? I think this is the perfect form factor. You can do so much more with the phone closed and not being cramped up while on the go and then enjoy the open canvas other times. Punch hole is preference really wasted space either way.No sale for me. The two main issues?
1) They made the exterior display/phone wider. The whole point with this phone is that you can unfold it for a large display; the secondary display should be narrow so you can easily use the phone one-handed!
2) They gave it a punch hole camera in the main display. So, those three times you'll EVER use the selfie camera in the main display, you'll get a slightly better picture, and for the rest of the lifetime of the phone you're stuck with a big black hole in the upper corner. Insane prioritisation!
It might have been cramped for you… but there were some that preferred that narrow outer experience, it’s a reason why Samsung kept it that way for the amount of time it did lol. It's definitely always all about preference, have you had a chance to take a look at the phone in person? I don’t have the problem with removing UDC, it’s the placement of the hole punch that’s the issue. Competition has it off to the side to prevent distraction… which I think that’s what the post you responded to was trying to explain.
My thought process behind the whole narrowness of the outer display... is if I wanted a larger experience, I use inner display lol.I think the narrowness is a positive ofc but now it feels like a proper phone closed. It still won't hinder my one-handed use and now I can use the phone more in the folded state as I've been using my ZF6 opened mainly. As you mentioned competition I'm sure has a lot to do with some of the updates. The inside hole is not something that I ever notice once I start using a phone regularly but do welcome improvements always..

I think Samsung philosophy regarding the Galaxy Fold series has been outer display for quick interactions and encourage us to open the inner display if we need to do more. But I think with the ZF7, people will use the outer display more often... taking advantage of the inner display less. Which begs the question... why not buy a slab phone?
Because it’s nice to have a “normal” size phone while also having the option to have a tablet sized screen with a quick unfold. I still love my ZF6 but even though my 9PF annoys the hell out of me with its lags and overheating at times I tend to use it more because of the convenience of being able to use a normal-ish sized screen most of the time. I think it’s all preference and see what you mean about the convenience of a narrow form factor but obviously Samsung has listened to the majority here with their changes (except the battery). After playing with it in Best Buy it still doesn’t feel unwieldy when using it one handed (to me). Very similar to the 9 Pro Fold although it feels slightly more narrow. Wish I had the 9PF and ZF6 to take pictures for comparison but only had my 16PM on me.My thought process behind the whole narrowness of the outer display... is if I wanted a larger experience, I use inner display lol.

I get where you're coming from but why not use both equally or why not have the best of both worlds. This way you can do both I mean it is supposed to be used for production so why not have it the best way closed and open. This way you can get the most bang for the buck either way.
I'm not opposing you two. It's just that the ZF6 encouraged us to use the inner display more... whereas I think the ZF7 will have us less likely to use it.Because it’s nice to have a “normal” size phone while also having the option to have a tablet sized screen with a quick unfold. I’m excited for the ZF7. My only disappointments are the battery and the lack of S-Pen.

Yea there’s definitely two ways to look at it. I hated “having” to open the device every time I wanted to type out a longer text or email. I mainly like the inner screen when looking at pictures/media, email attachments, construction drawings, and obviously multitasking. That’s what made me explore other options with the Pixel Foldables and OP Open. I’m really excited for the ZF7 hopefully they ship a week early like the S25U did.I'm not opposing you two.
