Who's ordering the S25?

Maybe. Didn't find the S24U worth moving to from a 23U. I have liked the feel of the 24/24+ with the rounded edges so the S25U should feel nicer with the rounded edges.

I was thinking of an iPhone 16 Pro Max because AT&T was offering $1000 for my S23U and was interested about trying the iPhone as a daily again but that desire has died down.

Still have my S22U also because when I got the S23U I was going to use the S22U as the trade but AT&T was giving $1000 trade-in for an iPhone 11. I have 11's at work laying around not deploying anymore so asked the boss if I could have one and used it to trade... so almost cost me nothing to get it and now have two phones I can use to trade.

Will have to see how much they offer for my S23U or my S22U. If not from Samsung PreOrder will see what AT&T will offer. Last 3 or 4 phones I've always got $1000 from one of those two so we'll see.

Are you going through Samsung then and not your carrier? I've wanted to do that but then chicken out, thinking I might have some issues with ATT services not working, like their voicemail. Their voicemail sucks unless you pay extra for transcription devices, but not sure if the alternative would be worse.
That's correct, yes. The last four or five years I've ordered an unlocked phone directly through Samaung. It's worked out well. Spectrum Mobile is my carrier.

Looks like Nova doesn't support some of the widgets in UI 7, anyone know a launcher with scrollable dock?

I wonder how many days after us pre-ordering on January 22nd would they ship out the phones?

I would hate to have to wait 3+ weeks!

They ought to take a page off of Apple's marketing skills and immediately after the Unpacked event, all stores will have no emboargos and start selling. When you've whipped up maximum interest, catch it while it's hot!

Unfortunately, Samsung isn't as good in marketing and always have asked us to wait like 14 days. Dumb dumb dumb move.

I will, I'm just hoping that the camera on the 25 ultra has improved over the 24 ultra
I hope so, but from what I've read there isn't much improvement in terms of hardware.

But I also have the issue with the oleophobic coating on the display. For now, it's just becoming an insane smudge magnet. I'm talking to the point that I have to wipe it down about every hour. I installed a slick glass protector which brought back the smudge resistance but now I've got massive glare. That is also part of my motivation for trading this S24U in for the 25U.

Im planning on it depending on price. If i cant get a good price on an unlocked i may wait but i am coming from the s22U and would really like the upgrade.

Why not get Google's free offering of Google Voice? Free VM with transcription. You get alerts on your device, from an app that you don't have to call, just open, and it saves so you can go back anytime and see other messages from the same source. It also gives you a free local number that you can use with your account. This number is good for things like questionable contacts, that person you just met, the sweepstakes you think may just be phishing for your information, those one people who call and just won't take "I gave at the office" for an answer. With this Google number you can also screen calls by requiring the callers say their name or say something for the call to go through. It used to do so much more but they have stripped it down so much over the years. Overall, free Visual Voicemail, a Free number, Call screening, easier to block unwanted calls than with your carrier number, SMS/MMS included with the free number, free domestic Calls, flat rate international calling...

May i ask if anyone knows the details about Samsung's proprietary fast charging protocols? I'm tempted to buy this Anker desktop charging station, which seems advanced, but I can't tell if it's compatible with Samsung's own fast charging protocols.

This is the Anker that I'm tempted to buy but am concerned about compatibility:

Anker Prime Charger, 250W GaN Prime USB C Charging Station, Ultra-Fast 6-Port, 2.26" LCD Display and Smart Control Dial, Compatible with MacBook Pro/Air, iPhone 16/15/14, Galaxy, and More (Silver)

Any thoughts or in depth knowledge would be most appreciated.

Thank you.

The Galaxy S24/S23 series supports USB C Power Delivery (PD) using the Programmable Power Supply (PPS) standard. So the Samsung charging protocols aren't really proprietary, they conform to industry standards. All recent Anker chargers support PPS, among a few other standards.
I have a similar version of the Anker Prime Desktop Charger GaN that has 6 ports and it is able to fast charge a Galaxy phone, tablet and other devices at the same time without any issues. I am a big fan of the Anker chargers and have a few of their devices, including portable power banks. Very happy with how they perform. :D I think the more important issue is using a USB C cable that can support the wattage level that you need. But that is a whole other topic!

Because it's the equivalent of porting your number to a different carrier. Unless they changed it, you'll have to use a device that's completely paid off.

I used it years ago, like around 2012, when Sprint had some type of agreement with Google and you're right, it was great.

There's not enough to pull me in to get the S25U this time round. I've had pretty much every flagship from the Note series to the S ultra series at launch and every time it seems to be less and less of an upgrade.
The only thing that have got better are the trade in prices and freebies (for us in the UK at least)

Having had the S24 ultra for almost a year now I've had zero issues and I'm not bored with it at all, it has no marks or scratches and looks just as good as it did on day one, also battery life is great!

I'm going to hang on at least until the S26U or when there are some proper upgrades and not incremental.

I am going to keep an eye on this forum though because the excitement of people getting their new phones is great to read ;)
