Afternoon.
Galaxy S4
Android 5.0.1
I acquired this phone from a US Cellular store a long time ago.

First, as far as I know everything works just fine.

When I look at my home screen, I see a text app named "Messaging".
And when I go to Settings \ More \ Applications manager \ All, I see an app named "Messaging" version 1.0.0.

Okay then.

Is the above Messaging application Samsung's, Android or US Cellular ?

When I do Internet searches on "Messaging" I find articles referencing apps named "Messages".

I'm so confused.

Might I ask for help (In plain simple words if possible.)

Thanks in advance.

Samsung used Google's Messaging app as the base for theirs, named it Messages, but forgot to change the name in the installation files, so it installed as Messaging. It's the same app, pretty much the same as Google's app at the time.

Sorry for the delay.
I got a flu shot right after posting my request for help and then proceeded to get the flu.
Oh well, I'm back in the game again.

Here's a few screen shots (attached), which I hope give an indication of what is currently installed.

Thanks for your interested in this.

That's most likely Samsung's own messaging app. It's unlikely to be the same as the one that's installed on current Samsung phones, considering how old the S4 is.
