Why am I not notified about text messages?

[AC Question]

I have a Samsung S4 with Verizon.
I have put the volume all the way up but the phone will not ring, ding, beep or vibrate when a call, text or email is received. What's up with that?

I'm in a discussion about this with some other people already. You can visit the discussion at the link below. The only difference is they seem to have the S5, and they just updated. Have you recently updated?
