AC Question

I kind put off the last two updates on my 1st gen Shield Tablet out of laziness since I was rooted with custom recovery but I decided to do it tonight.

I installed the second to most latest OTA over ADB and expected to see an OTA notice for Marshmallow when I booted back up but I didn't. When I check for software updates, I am told I am up to date.

I know Marshmallow was pulled for awhile but according to: http://www.androidcentral.com/nvidia-shield-tablet-marshmallow-ota-update-available-once-again they rolled it out again.

Any idea why I don't see it? I know I can just find it on xda or something but was it pulled again or something? I'm just wondering what is up here.

Its been awhile since I rooted anything but I thought rooted device in general do not get OTA updates.

Because the device is rooted. If there has been any modification to the system files you don't get an OTA. You're going to need to flash a stock image.
