Why am I receiving email responses to text messages from T-mobile
I have Boost Mobile. This problem only occurs with someone with a T-mobile account.
At first it was just one person, but now I have two. Here is the problem:
I send them a traditional SMS text message, and they don't receive it as a text message. They receive it as an e-mail from me (with the "from" address being MY email-to-SMS e-mail address--which is a Boost Mobile e-mail address).
They then respond to that message and it comes back to me as an e-mail from them to me, with THEIR email-to-SMS email address--which is a T-mobile email address.
Now here's where it gets even weirder: If I respond to THAT e-mail that they send, which has a reply address as their email-to-SMS email address, it sends them another e-mail from an absolutely random e-mail address. Just a bunch of letters and numbers in seemingly random order.
The problem is independent of my texting client--both the stock and Textra (what I use) do this. It appears to be independent of phones, too, because my old phone and my new phone both have this exact problem. I assume it has something to do with either their phone or some interaction between the service providers.
I haven't had this problem in the past. And I don't think I have this problem with all T-mobile people. I am wondering if the problem is with my phone, their phone, my service provider, or their service provider. Any insight into this problem?
