Why am I receiving email responses to text messages from T-mobile

I have Boost Mobile. This problem only occurs with someone with a T-mobile account.

At first it was just one person, but now I have two. Here is the problem:

I send them a traditional SMS text message, and they don't receive it as a text message. They receive it as an e-mail from me (with the "from" address being MY email-to-SMS e-mail address--which is a Boost Mobile e-mail address).

They then respond to that message and it comes back to me as an e-mail from them to me, with THEIR email-to-SMS email address--which is a T-mobile email address.

Now here's where it gets even weirder: If I respond to THAT e-mail that they send, which has a reply address as their email-to-SMS email address, it sends them another e-mail from an absolutely random e-mail address. Just a bunch of letters and numbers in seemingly random order.

The problem is independent of my texting client--both the stock and Textra (what I use) do this. It appears to be independent of phones, too, because my old phone and my new phone both have this exact problem. I assume it has something to do with either their phone or some interaction between the service providers.

I haven't had this problem in the past. And I don't think I have this problem with all T-mobile people. I am wondering if the problem is with my phone, their phone, my service provider, or their service provider. Any insight into this problem?

You're right, the problem is either with your phone, their phone, your carrier, or their carrier. Call Boost customer support (866-402-7366) and ask them to make sure that your account is provisioned properly, letting them know what the problem is. Since the problem is between Sprint (Boost) and TMobile, and you're not a TMobile customer, you have to talk to Boost (even if it's TMobile's problem - if it is, the people you're having the problem with will have to take it up with TMobile).
