Why am i still getting texts on my old phone after porting my number to Google Fi

Still have contract with verizon, the number is listed as "suspended". Older phone is getting texts that the Nexus 5 is not. Older phone is a Iphone 4s that was on a verizon contract.

Need to give a call to Apple and have your phone number disassociated from your iPhone 4S. It takes a little bit for texts to divert, but it will filter out eventually.
