unable to continue to synch bookmarks with desktop chrome from android chrome...

Hey all.

I am in the process of setting up a kodi box using a windows 8.1 laptop and need to access some of my bookmarks that I have stored on my phone but recently within the last couple of weeks or so my phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 2, running 4.4.2) has not been able to save bookmarks to the Desktop bookmarks folder even though i can still use bookmarks stored there, it will only let me save in Mobile bookmarks and that folder is not synching with chrome on either of my computers (win7-64b tower and the laptop).

any ideas on what I can do to get it to synch properly again?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Accounts-Google>[your Google account], and make sure Chrome is checked. For some unclear reason, Chrome often unsyncs on its own.

Thanks for the reply. I checked my phones chrome settings and turned synch back on however I still cannot save outside the mobile bookmarks folder for some reason.

Did Google make any changes to how their mobile version if chrome does bookmarks?

Interesting--I just tried it on my Nexus 5, and I encounter the same thing as you. I've never really tried it before, since I usually save my Favorites using Chrome on my computer, not the phone (and then sync).

It may be that they wanted to delineate the Desktop and Mobile bookmark folders more clearly. I would guess that you can still move the bookmark from the Mobile folder to one of the Desktop folders using Chrome on your computer.

Try this:
Go on to your "Bookmarks" page in your Android's Chrome.

If the header indicates:
Bookmarks > Mobile bookmarks
or Bookmarks > Other bookmarks

Tap "Bookmarks" before the >
and you it should lead you to a list of bookmarks in which Desktop bookmarks should be one of them.

Thanks Chillhop - that worked perfectly. For some reason they were all under "other bookmarks"
