Why am I unable to see the photos on my SD card?

I have an LG G3 phone. I am unable to view the pictures that I have on my SD card, but whenever I connect my phone to the computer or insert the SD card into the computer I can see all of the photos that I have saved on my SD card. I'm not sure what happened. I used to be able to see them snd something happened, preventing me from seeing them. Any and all help will be very useful. Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Which directory on the SD card are the photos in? Using a file manager app, or Windows Explorer (while the phone is plugged in via USB), see if there is a file called ".nomedia" present in that directory, which would prevent the system from adding any photos in that directory (or subdirectory) to the Gallery database.

Using the file manager on the phone, are you able to see the photo files and open them that way?
