Why Android Messages send MMS when connected to wifi?

[AC Question]

I recently purchased the GS8 on AT&T. I downloaded Android Messages however it wont let me send/receive MMS when connected to wifi. If I turn off Wifi the messages are fine. No problems with SMS. Other texting apps seem to be handling MMS just fine on Wifi. Ive tried adjusting the APN settings and wifi calling settings neither have helped. Has anyone else experienced this?

You have a setting in developer options that leaves mobile data ON when you have WiFi connected... That may be one option...

I have the same issue with my S8 on at&t. Unable to send MMS with WiFi on. I hope someone had a fix.
