Android Central Question

Hello,
sometimes i install various applications like [Mod redacted] APK files. whenever i copy these files on the P30 internal storage, sooner or later, they get deleted, leaving the folder empty. Other folders containing music or documents remain untouched, but the APK files get deleted. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Could it be a security measure? Sometimes the files make it through the night, sometimes they get deleted immediately after i copy them. and all this, without warning or anything. does anybody have any idea as to why it is doing this?
BTW, whatever app I install via an APK, remains installed...

Going by the only one you mention by name, is possible it's a security measure considering what that app actually is.

I won't get into what it actually is as those types of apps are ones we avoid discussing here...

Good point , definitely don't allow that talk here .

Thank you. Fair enough. If it's a security measure it's OK. I thought it might be something else and got a little nervous, as I didn't receive any warning or deny message or something like this on removal.

Hi, welcome !

Yeah that mentioned app APK can't discuss

Thanks a lot guys. So what I thought to be a system issue turns out to be an effective security measure. All clear!

Welcome to Android Central! Which directory are you copying those apks to? If it's the Download directory, then keep in mind that some phones have "Smart Cleaner" features that might automatically clear out your Download folder on a scheduled basis, regardless of how important you think the files might be.

Thank you! I created a new folder. At first it was named "Apps". But after this phenomena started, i renamed it thinking that the name might interfere with the phones internal naming (....somehow).
I did take into consideration the cleaners and I winded up suspecting the P30's "Optimizer". In settings, the Optimizer has 4 options:
Smart Tune-Up
Auto-clean junk files
Auto-update cleanup database
Online virus scan

I am suspecting one of the last 2.
So by default they are set to scan only using WiFi. I have now disabled WiFi and using only the provider internet, copied some files...and so far so good. I will wait another day or so, then I will activate each setting at a time to check which one is performing the removal.
It's clear for me that it's a security thing, and I am OK with it, satisfied even, but I just want to find out what in my phone does this.
