I love my new Huawei P20 pro BUT I might return it if I cannot have TIDAL play songs in HIFI settings on it. Does anybody know what the story is?
I can use chromecast and send the songs but that's about it..
Not on the phone or via headphones or Android Auto.
I am gonna have to return it and get a S) or is there a solution?

Thanks a Zillion billion for answering....

You are connected to the internet when you can't use it (on the phone, headphones or Android Auto), right? It's a streaming service, the music isn't on your phone, you stream it via the internet. (Which, in your car, means using mobile data.)

Yea, I am connected to the internet and I know it is a streaming service.
Have had streamingservices many years now...This I a known problem with Huewei and TIDAL.
I was hoping someone with insight could help me..

Just downloaded the app onto my Mate 10 Pro to see what you meant and it's the same for me. You can choose Normal or High Quality but Hifi is greyed out for streaming and offline

Hey

Try this!, change HIFI settings to another quality, and then try to play. After this(if it works), you could change again to HIFI.

I believe the problem is that the Tidal app isn't asking for all the right permissions from The phone. I'm going to try running Nova Launcher to see if that sorts it... I'll let you know

If you add to your collection and download to device, I can get it to play on the Huawei P20 Pro. I'm running Nova Launcher but that makes zero difference in my opinion.

Create a playlist. Add songs to playlist. Open playlist and select to download. Once the playlist starts downloading, you should get away with playing in HiFi but it will stop if it catches up with the buffer. Maybe not your answer but it is a way around it.
