Why are my Facebook photos suddenly not showing up in the gallery?

Facebook photos suddenly don't show up in gallery

hey guys,

tonight all of the sudden my Facebook Photo's aren't syncing with my android device. When I try to login in I get: Login Failed, Please try again later. Anybody have the same problem?

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen on mobile data as well? Did you try other wi-fi networks?

Hello B. Diddy,

Yes it also happens on mobile data as well. I removed account, removed facebook app. Also removed connection on facebook.com and than via phone add it again (like setting a up a new phone) but no avail.

The weird thing is it was working fine this afternoon and all the other days.

I suppose it could be a Facebook server issue. Try again tomorrow.

Well I tried today again. but still nothing. Really annoying, hope I'm not the only one with this problem.

Hmm. Let's take a step back. Which device do you have? Is this happening with the full Facebook app that you install from Google Play, or is it some special Facebook interface that came preinstalled on the phone (often as part of the manufacturer's user interface)?

Well it's a Samsung Galaxy S4 with Android 4.4.2. It happens when you setup accounts from the settings menu of the phone itself. The weird thing is it was working fine before, after yesterday night I noticed that the sync wasn't working so I removed the Facebook account and re-added it only in resulting getting that message for my Facebook albums. The contacts it synced perfectly fine.

What happens if you open the main Facebook app, tap Menu, then App Settings, then Sync Photos? That function seems to be primarily for uploading your phone's photos to Facebook, but I wonder if it also may be a 2-way sync.

Hey sorry for late reply, that option is only to sync my photos on my device to Facebook, not the other way around. Getting a little frustrated with it not working. everytime i restart my phone it will ask me to login to sync but when i do i get that error message.

I'm running galaxy note 4 and having same issues. My calendar and gallery and sync intervals are all greyed out and when I click on sync with Facebook, it flashes Facebook login and disappears. Sprint says it's due to the lollipop update.

ohh, weird, but what about your Facebook albums, do you have them synced on your phone?

Yes, I had same issue. I went to Best Buy and had Samsung check it out and it was my Galaxy app. It was disabled and when he reinstalled it my gallery, calendar and my sync issues in my Facebook account started working fine.

I've got a similar issue on my S3; the notification comes up to "log in to sync stuff" or something like that and, when I put my details in it comes back with login failed. In my case I don't sync photos to/from Facebook but I tend to sync my Facebook calendar, which is why this stuff is needed. I've tried a variety of things including removing the account from my phone and re-adding it, removing the Galaxy App from my facebook account so that it would be re-added when I tried to sign in (it did get re-added but still got login failed). So far I've got no solution so if you can say a bit more about what you mean by "Galaxy app" in your comment it would be appreciated. I don't appear to have any "Galaxy" app in my phone so....

i was having the same problem and i went to this app and searched facebook clicked it and everything synced perfectly hopes this helps
