Why are my Google Now Cards reverting to Silent after about 15 minutes?

Google Now Cards revert to Silent after about 15 minutes.

I use reminders on my Moto X all day long (I'm old). Recently my reminders would vibrate, but not play my reminder tone. In Google's Search and Now settings I saw that under Now Cards the ringtone was set to Silent. I changed this to my reminder tone, but it reverts to silent within about 15 minutes.

It has been doing the same thing on my M9 for a few weeks now.

I've found no solution.

I've got the same problem on my HTC M8.

I'm assuming it is a broken update to either Google Now or Google Play Services.

I have the same issue. Nexus 5 lolipop 5.1.1. I just did a factory reset and have no 3rd party apps installed. It still defaults to silent. Also the sep 1 Google search 5.2 update does not fix this issue. Google now notifications reverts to silent.

You don't even have to wait 15 minutes. To see if your notification sound choice reverts to silent. From the cards option screen after choosing your sound. Just back out to the main Google now screen. Swipe down so Google now can refresh/update to Google's servers. Then go back and check. You'll see your choice default to silent.

Its really a huge problem and I hope they fix it soon. So many of us need this function
