Why are my messages sending twice?

Messages sending twice

My friends that I text keep on saying I'm sending messages twice. This started when I switched the main SMS app from the stock to Google Hangouts. How can I fix this if this?

Try a Force Stop of the stock app, if you're no longer using it.

You are not alone. This happens to me on my orig Moto X in the stock msging app.

Are you on Verizon by any chance? I had that happen a few times a couple of weeks ago. I use Hangouts. Not sure if it is the phone/app or Verizon's network but it seems to have stopped a day or two after it started. Random doubles--not every message was repeated.

I'm not on Verizon but it does happen randomly. I'm not sure if it has stopped or not tho.
