Why are my text messages disappearing?

My text disappears

Samsung S5 This just started today. I can only see a text preview. When I open the messages it disappears. Also when I send a text it disappears. HELP!! I have tried rebooting a few times including removing battery. Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to the App Manager, select Messaging, and tap Clear Cache, then Force Stop. Open it again--does the problem still occur? If so, then try wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-10404

Also double check to make sure the date on your phone wasn't changed and that your device is synced to the correct date. I had the same problem except that the date on my phone somehow got changed and so the messages I received were being saved to a convo in a previous date.
