Why are my videos getting pixelated when sending a text to someone?

Vidios get pixilated when texted to someone

s6 active will send distorted pictures. They said at the store that the quality was too good and the data cannot be sent without distortion. They told me to download Whats App but anyone that I send to will also need that app. Does anyone else have this problem? My s4 did not and we even tried turning down the quality.

Welcome to Android Central! Videos or photos? Photos should send fine. Videos sent via MMS will always be terrible, since the max filesize that you can send via MMS is around 1.2 MB. A video compressed to that size will look pretty bad. It's better to upload a video to someplace like YouTube, Google Drive, or Google Photos, and then share it privately with your recipient.
