Lurker here trying to get into the swing of things by...actually...posting... ;) So, just curious...

Why are you getting a Nexus, in order of priority? Feel free to reorganize or just add your own.

1. ICS
2. Future OS updates promptly
3. Screen
4. Take advantage of Verizon's double data promotion
5. Samsung
6. Just to have the latest and greatest
7. Size

Wish list, again in order of priority

1. Size (I wish it was smaller, maybe 4.0 or possible 4.3, going to be really big with a case)*
2. Removable memory card
3. Higher resolution camera (better optics are an improvement over my Dinc anyway)
4. Larger battery capacity (always want a better battery, not sure if that's possible without making it bigger)

Well, that's me. How about you?

No bloatware
No Blur/Sense/TouchWiz

I'm down to my bare standards of smartphones to upgrade to coming from an OG Droid.
I'm seeing people I know enjoy the Rezound's screen and the Razr's build, and when the topic comes up, they ask me why I'm waiting. I feel like an idiot explaining why I want a new version of Android.

Hurry up Vergoogle, or Googizon, you're making me look bad.

Tell them you a like a smoother UI with consistent gestures, the ability to utilize both cores, and not waiting for updates. Then they'll feel like an idiot for asking you.

Because all the cool kids are getting it and Im a sucker for the latest and greatest.

1. ICS
2. Overall look of phone (screen & size)
3. LTE
4. Fast updates
5. Not a lot of bloatware
6. No oem skin

Wish list:

1. Sd-card (though if 32GB this doen't matter)
2. No VZW logos or apps (unless I want them)
3. Ability to remove search bar at top.
4. A world phone compatible with GSM/HSPA+ as well as CDM/LTE

Because I rushed to get the Storm 2 with my previous upgrade and I want to make sure I absolutely make my last Verizon NE2 upgrade count.

I dislike relying on rooting for my updates on my OG Droid. I also hate the waiting games that the carriers make people go through for their updates. Thus, the Nexus.

Vanilla. That should be enough right there after years of VZ bloat.

But there is more...

Something new
ICS
NFC
Unlocked

Most of them have no idea what UI stands for, don't know what goes into an update, or even realize what dual core is. I think that goes for 90% of consumers.

While I don't mind the new MotoBlur, I'm just looking for pure Android and feel that with the phone being purpose built for ICS, that it'll just fly. I also like the idea of having my updates come straight from Google rather than waiting for Verizon to approve them.

I stick with Nexus phones and being on Verizon... win win. In my head i want to keep it stock and just enjoy the experience but i know some custom undervolted/overclocked kernels are going to end up on there heh. Thats the beauty of custom recoveries... i can always go back to my backup of stock.

What most people don't seem to realize or remember from the announcement of the phone's existence is that the screen is 4.65", but with the on screen keys, the actual real estate is 4.3", the only difference is that the G-nex gives you a "larger" screen to watch movies. So when you hold the phone next to a phone such as the Rezound or Razor, the actual usable screen size will be pretty much the same.

Why am I getting the Nexus?

1. Pure Google
2. Pure Google
3. Pure Google
4. Pure Google

My wish list for a phone was dual core, 1 GB RAM, 4.3" screen (preferably AMOLED), LTE. Now that Verizon is getting a Nexus, which means no bloatware (minus the 2 or 3 VZW apps) and it will be the first phone that gets updates (after VZW's testing and approval), I don't want anything else. This phone is the perfect phone for me, it has everything I want and nothing that I don't. So here is my updated list:

1. ICS
2. Dual core processor
3. 1GB RAM
4. 4.3" AMOLED screen (GN has 4.3" usable screen area, except when watching video)
5. LTE

Pretty simple. I want a phone that's supported by Google not supported by me.

As much as I enjoy tinkering, ROM flashing, and the development community, I trust Google more than CM and MIUI.

Cos the razr and rezound suck.
Played with both and they don't really do anything for me....no wow factor.

I'm due an upgrade. Want front facing camera, ICS, minimal bloatware, and updates by google
