Why Are You Not Upgrading To Or Buying The S20?

I'm still waiting for reviews on the camera. The s10+ camera sucks in terms of point and shoot. It always comes out blurry. On the iPhone and Pixel 4 it always comes out clean. Other than that. The S10+ still a beast. Just that the camera is a problem for me.

This ^^^^^

I have pre-ordered the 20+ but if I get a sense that these issues will remain then I will cancel.

The S10+ (Ceramic) is the nicest phone I have used over the last 12 months but that camera just ruined it for me and being Exynos no chance of a stable Gcam port either.

I agree. I don't have any cameras but have the Note 9 and Note 10 Plus. I'm not impressed with the S20 lineup (which it is usually a reliable forerunner of this year's Note lineup). I'm seriously thinking of selling the Note 20, selling my Note 9 and buying another Note 10 Plus just before the Note 20 is launched. .

No, just a small/medium sized company with AT&T and Verizon business accounts for our wireless needs. We deploy quite a few phones but they usually hang on to the phones a long time so he lets me use an upgrade available on a line if I want as long as I pay for it.

Just like the old consumer subsidized pricing you could get any flagship for $200. Those days are long gone now as it’s slowly creeped up to level now, smh.

That's a sweet deal if you are you getting an Ultra for 899? I know they have an EPP program for many Companies but I thought it was 7 to 10%. Do you work for Samsung?

S20 and S20 Plus are about identical in size to their predecessors. Technically, they're even slightly smaller. Unless you just meant the Ultra.

I think I was moreso thinking about the Ultra. But still, I'm looking forward to holding all of the devices in the hand before making a decision on whether or not the sizes would work for me.

The last time I got a subsidized phone phone from Verizon about 5 years ago they became really sneaky and doubled the line access fee on that line for two years so you really paid full price anyway.

I prefer the Note-series of phones. Plus, it seems like the 100x "space zoom" isn't all that useful and the zoomed pictures don't come out all that great anyways. I'm going to hold out for a phone that doesn't compromise its cameras.

This for me too.

A few months ago I was thinking about switching carriers, and was checking prices/features between Verizon and AT&T (currently use TMo). I can't believe that AT&T is still charging line access fees. Their prices were looking pretty good until I started building a plan and the access fees got added.

Hmmm...interesting. I went all the way through the checkout process (all I had to do was click place order), and read about the plans I was considering. Nothing about line fees. I also did an online chat with a Verizon rep that assured me they don't have them on their newest plans.

I put in a pre-order for an S20 on the Samsung website trading in my S10 for $600 credit, but later cancelled my order after realizing my S10 is still a great phone and meets all my needs. It has a great screen, runs quick with Android 10, battery holds a charge all day, camera takes great pictures, and everything just works. It's hard for me to justify upgrading with my S10 working so well for my needs. Maybe in 12 months.

Then I'll have to check my plan. It's possible they eliminated the separate charge and rolled in into the plan

Haven't owned a Samsung flagship since the GS7/Edge. Mainly due to their pricing/curved displays. Presently rocking the P20 Pro & G8X ThinQ that were both bought new. Combined they cost me $30 more than what the std. S20 would (where I live)! So far haven't seen anything about the S20 lineup that leads me to believe I'd be any better off, poorer sure. Yes maybe on the support end (future proofing) but it's not like my present devices will become stones anytime soon... They both still very much impress, suffice for my needs.

For me the lack of support( i.e. only 2 years). The lack of dual sim in the USA. Lastly if they want to charge prices like that I need apple type support and longevity. I just can't get on the Samsung train for android as they are just spec beast type devices now. By the time the next note comes out this will be going to the back burner.

Only going to the back burner for those that want the Note. It would be nice if they offered longer support but part of the issue is the average person doesnt look at that. If my wife, my daughter and the rest of my extended family never received an update they would most likely never know the difference.

Yup, plus the Apple "support" you get is the type that secretly slowed down your phone over the years.

They may never know the difference... but those iOS updates and everything in between is probably what helps keep their iOS devices chugging for 4+ years, if they hold on to them that long, without much issue until it the tech on the devices can't keep up with the OS changes anymore... at least that's been my experience with practically all my iOS devices. Finally had to give up on the Air and Air2 after 4-5+ years and go with a 11" iPad Pro.

I admit my Note 8 is chugging ok in year 3... but already missing Android Q (only two OS uodates given, smh) not getting OneUI2.0 and with R coming up it will only fall behind further.

Passing on these or any phones for awhile. I already updated last year. Phones are to pricey for me to upgrade every year anymore. Just not enough bang for the buck for me.

Too much dang money. I mean $1,000 to start. INSANE. I'm sticking with my pixel 3 XL that I bought mint in December 2019 for $350 lol. Works PERFECTLY so ya no, no paying crap load of money for a phone.

That said, I would love to have one lol.
