Why aren't I able to set my screen lock on my Moto G2?

i cant able to set my screen lock in moto g2

i cant able to set my screen lock in moto g2 ... actually i have installed an app called start lock screen and i uninstalled it ,,, after dis iam facing the problem...i went to settings selected pattern lock screen nd when i pressed the lock button it is turning off and when i pressed again to on ,, it is nt asking pattern lock it is opening directly ¡!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does the same happen if you leave the phone off for a longer time? The phone won't necessarily lock after pressing the power button. Go to settings - security and make sure you have enabled the "power button instantly locks" option. Also, check the "automatically lock" option, that will set how long will take to lock after sleep.
