Why aren't my apps showing up in the app drawer?

I can't remember what other apps are recently not showing but today it's messenger that brought me to post. Facebook made some changes and messenger isn't easily reached within their layout any more. So I went to my app drawer to create a shortcut on my home screen. But it's not there. I resorted by alphabetical just to make sure I wasn't missing it. It's still not there. I went to the the play store and updated. Messenger icon is nowhere to be found in my drawer or home screen? Any ideas? Samsung Galaxy S7. Thanks!

Did you perhaps hide it? Can you go to the app drawer and search?

I was thinking the same thing sounds like they're hidden. What launcher are you using
