Why aren't my picture texts going through on certain phones?

I recently upgraded to a Galaxy S7 from an S4. A buddy of mine has an S5. Before I upgraded I could send him picture texts with no issues, now that I've upgraded none of the pictures go through and I get a "failed" message.

I have Verizon wireless and he has Cricket.

Any suggestions as to what the issue could be?

Sometimes mms has to be enabled at a network level. Ask your service provider to check if it's enabled.

I will check, however I think it is already enabled. Each time I send a text with a picture it it and says that it is converting to MMS and then sends it - just not to the friend I mentioned above.

Ah.. might be an issue with his phone then? Maybe your phone doesn't like his phone (number). So you can mms with other people, but not him? Weird. Can he get pics from other ppl? Get him to send mms to his own number maybe... quickest way to check mms function i reckon.

What text app are you using? I would highly recommend textra, or Google messenger. If you use textra set your MMS settings to 1mb and system. Should solve your problem I had the same issue with my S7 when I first got it.
