Android Central Question
When I open people's bank's pfc account app, it says "my phone has been rooted. So I went to setting in play store and checked, it says "my device is not certified" What to do?
Everyone seems to have taken a different 'what if', mine is, what if the device really is rooted, where did you get the device? If you purchased it from a private seller or used it very well could be rooted. Depending on device you can often tell if a device is rooted or the bootloader has been unlocked by viewing the bootloader page. This is often done by holding some combination of power and volume button while powering up the device. Then somewhere, usually across the top of this page, it will say something like 'tampered', 'unofficial', 'unlocked' or 'rooted' if the device isn't in factory condition.
Let us know what you find.
Every time you start your phone it will display a message saying the bootloader is unlocked and that data on the phone cannot be trusted if this was the case. It's pretty easy to tell.
Yes unlocked bootloader will give that messageCould it depend on the device? I may have a faulty memory, which cannot be ruled out, but I only ever remember getting a message about my devices being rooted when I booted into the bootloader. I never noticed an additional splash screen or start-up messages. I do remember my Bootloader screen having a red message saying, TAMPERED, and one that said, Unlocked, but all from the bootloader screen.
