Why can you, or how can you? If you want to know how, we need to know which version of Android it's running. Up to 4.4.2 with a June 2, 2014 or earlier kernel date, it's easy (but different methods for different versions). After that it may not be possible. Check at Xperia Z Full Phone Specifications, Latest News, Forum to see if anyone has a root method if you're running a late kernel 4.4.2 or a later version of Android. (4.4.2 with a June 2, 2014 or earlier kernel roots with Towel Root.)

Yes, you can root with the Kingoroot windows application. It is the easy process you just need to enable the android debugger mode. And make sure you are on .230 version for quick results.
