Why can not I find old call log entries?

My huawei honor 4x shows only call log entries for the past 2 months. Today is 10-September and the oldest call log entry is of date 6-July.

There is a number that called me on April and I am in a bad need to get it back. Is there a way to do so?

Can you look at your detailed phone bill from that month? Your carrier should have an option to look at a detailed bill that includes all numbers that you called or that called you.

I'm not sure why your call log doesn't go back that far. Are you sure you didn't clear the cache/data of the Phone app or other system apps around July?

Paying a bill is not the way my carrier gets his money from me. I charge a card with some credit and use that credit. So, there is no way to get any information from my carrier.

- Not sure about the cache part but I do not believe that happened because every new day, the last entry is erased. I think it's a limitation issue but not sure about that.

Ok, but are you able to access your account on the carrier's website? That should still be an option, regardless of how you pay for your service. Which carrier are you using?

Is call log backed up by default to google servers? If yes, how can I access it?

Are you able to log into your Vodafone account on their website? Look in your account options to see if there's an option to review your calls there. For most carriers (at least in the US), a customer can review a monthly bill/invoice with a detailed list of all phone calls and text messages.

As long as you have Google Backup set up in the system settings, the call log should be backed up -- but I believe the only way you can use that is to factory reset your phone and restore it using that data.

I tried logging into my account on vodafone but they have a less number of log entries than my phone's.

Unfortunately not. Sim Cards were not being registered for their holders until a couple of years ago(I think). And my sim is even not registered for me. You can say that even the company does not know that I am holding this sim card!

The only thing I can suggest is to make sure all of your important data is backed up, then do a factory reset and restore the phone from a previous backup. If the call log still doesn't go back that far, then I don't know of any other way, sorry!

Your call log is stored on a carrier server. Not sure why you can't access that information but that's your only option unless you backed up your phone.
