Why can't a Facebook video connect to my Chromecast

I have a Facebook video saved that I want to play on my Chromecast. When I try, it seems to be working, and I can even see a shadow of the video on the TV screen behind the 'connecting' messages. My WiFi is good, my phone's WiFi and Bluetooth are both on, my TV is set to Chromecast, but no luck. Help?

Is there an overlay on the screen? If there is, even if it's transparent, that's what's being cast.

I thought only YouTube can directly connect to Chromecast. I will need to try Facebook video too.
