Why can't I connect my Samsung Galaxy Watch to my Huawei Mate 20 Pro?

My new Samsung Galaxy watch arrived today, and I have been trying to pair it with my Huawei Mate 20 Pro, with no luck!!!!

I have downloaded the Samsung Wearable App and it just keeps on crashing, advising me that my phone and watch are connected, telling me my watch has reset, then the App crashes... Currently a waste of £300... Maybe I should have stuck with my iPhone and Apple watch?

HELP!!!!

Is anyone else having the same issues or has anyone been successful pairing the two together?

I moved this to the Galaxy Watch forum for more specific traffic.

I'm having the same problem. Watch worked fine on my S8, the mate 20 Pro has sync'd but I cannot open the app. I'm also not getting any notifications on the watch

Could you get a loan of a Samsung phone to try with for initial setup and then connect to the Huawei afterwards.
Also.. Which version is it, bluetooth or 4g/lte

That won't help - when you connect to to a new phone you have to do a factory reset on the watch.

I don't know why it's not working for some people - can vouch for the fact a friend of mine has his working great with a Mate 20 Pro. Didn't have to do anything special to get it to pair with the Galaxy Wearable app.

Did you pair it in the app originally, or through your phone's Bluetooth settings? If the latter, unpair the watch from the phone and do everything through the app
