Android Central Question

Im trying to connecto to someone's wifi, so I go to the wifi section on the settings and press on the name of the correct wifi. Then it asks for the password so I type it, but the "connect" button stays gray.
I figured that if i put 8 or more caracters, the button, can be pressed, but the correct password has less than 8.
The thing is: I've been able to connect to that wifi before, with the same password. Everything started when I did a complete restart of the phone.
Help?

Welcome to Android Central! Ask your friend if the password has changed.

Also, make sure you're selecting the correct SSID. If your friend didn't create a unique SSID, but instead just used the router's default SSID (which might be something generic like "Linksys"), then it's possible you could choose the wrong SSID if other routers in the area also use a default SSID.
