I'm stuck on Android 5.0.2. I check manually for updates in settings, and get none available. Why?

This is a Wi-Fi only 9.7 model.

Hmm? WiFi only.
Sorry, I somehow missed that... getting blind in my old age! I think Samsung is the one that needs to push the update to the tablet. You might contact Samsung. Or, you might check Sammobile to see if there's an update you can install manually via ODIN. Enter your model number at the Sammobile link.

Thanks. For some reason, my device model is not a US device, per sammobile.com. Weird.

Do you know, can I use Odin to flash a 6.01 from, say, United Kingdom? My device is unrooted.

It's not recommended you flash firmware from other regions/countries/carriers... you can brick the device. I'm not saying it can't be done, as many people have flashed firmware not specifically released for their device, however, it's best you check out XDA Tab S2 forums to see if anyone has done it for your particular tablet/model. XDA is the premier site for this sort of thing.

What's the full model number of your tablet?

It's an SM-T810.

SamMobile has a United Kingdom 6.01 file for SM-T810.

So it's the same model. I don't know if it's a different region, because I don't know what region my tablet is (or, for that matter, why it's not US).

Yes, you can flash different region's firmware as long as it precisely matches the model number ie SM-T810. My guess is you have Hong Kong fw on that device
