Why can't I hard reset Samsung Galaxy Tab 3V T113NU?

I forgot the password on my Galaxy Tab 3V. I tried doing the hard reset by pressing the power + up volume + home button together but I can't press the "wipe data / factory reset" because whenever I let go of the power button, the device shuts down immediately.
